Yes, he'd been elected but hadn't been seated. So Wright was the first sitting member to die of it.

Wright is the first sitting member of Congress to die after contracting Covid. In December, Congressman-elect Luke Letlow died after being diagnosed with the disease.

He was never a Congressman period. Despite being elected, being a Congressman never happened for him. On his gravestone it won't say "former Congressman" either, because he never was one.

It was you who first "attempted" to correct the OP. When politely stated by the both of us that you were incorrect, you refused to accept the truth, despite proof. Your first reply said "A congressman just elected." He was never a Congressman.

...but I don't think he was one of the crackpots. I won't celebrate his death unless I found out he was an anti-masker or conspiracy theorist.

And before anyone spams me with hate...yes, I am indifferent (almost celebratory) about the death of anyone who dies from afflictions that they minimized, dismissed or protested mitigations for in life.

If you're an anti-masker or anti-vaxxer and you die of Covid - good. If you're a pro-gun, open-carry, guns-guns-everywhere nutjob and you get shot and killed by mistake by "a good guy with a gun" - good.

I'm opposed to the state-imposed death penalty. But, I'm all for death-karma. Fuck the hypocrites.

Others in the party should take heed and quit acting like a bunch of Trumps.

Wiki:

In 2014, Wright's office added the motto "In God We Trust" to its stationery including on tax assessment envelopes and tax statements.

Good thing he had such trust, huh?
He held caucus with the new Tea Party (Freedom Caucus).

He took Barton's seat, who I think was the idiot who sent out a video of him masturbating.
