Springsteen charged with drunken driving; Jeep ad on pause

Source: AP

HIGHLANDS, N.J. (AP) — Bruce Springsteen is facing a drunken driving charge in New Jersey, prompting Jeep to put on pause the Super Bowl television commercial that features him.

Springsteen was arrested Nov. 14 in a part of the Gateway National Recreation Area on the New Jersey coast, a spokesperson for the National Park Service confirmed Wednesday.

The park is on a narrow, beach-ringed peninsula, with views across a bay to New York City. It is about 15 miles north of Asbury Park, where Springsteen got his start as a musician and bandleader and which was later made famous with his debut album, “Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.” Springsteen lives in Colts Neck, about 12 miles from the site of the arrest.

Springsteen received citations for driving while under the influence, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area. The spokesperson said Springsteen was cooperative.

Might be true, might not be. It doesn’t seem to make sense that they would charge him with DUI if he was only .02, so I would be skeptical of this until I hear it from a more reliable source.

let's all go to the middle because the fucking gop deserves a second chance or move on from trump's insurrection so we can all middle up, or liberals & lunatics should go to the middle because it rhymes with griddle and we could all eat waffles ... whatever the fuck it was just pissed me off

sounds like he's bored since he hasn't been able to perform in almost a year . . . his son says he's an "attention junkie," so he's probably chomping at the bit to get out there and tour again . . . let's hope he'll be able to do that sooner than later . . . he is, after all, in his 70s, so the next tour (if there is one) may well be the last . . .

... November? Why didn't we hear then... probably, it would have been better for Bruce to announce this in November and get ahead of the story. This makes it look like he/NJ maybe wanted it hushed... let's hope it's a blip, and not a trend. Springsteen has been in the predominantly admired group for a long time. I hope he stays there.

or his goodness as a human being. If he has learned something, if he is more careful or perhaps just stops drinking entirely it may add to his humanity and his music. I wish him well.
