Judge Sides with Kyle Rittenhouse in Defense Request for Secret Safe House Address, Refuses to Issue Warrant for Re-Arrest or Increase Bail

A Wisconsin circuit court judge on Thursday pounded Kenosha County District Attorney Thomas Binger over arguments that alleged murderer Kyle Rittenhouse failed to keep the court accurately advised of his current address.
Ultimately, the judge refused Bingers requests to increase Rittenhouses bond or to re-arrest Rittenhouse after court documents were returned as undeliverable from Rittenhouses last known address.
Rittenhouse is thumbing his nose at his own bond requirements to keep the court updated about said address pursuant to Wisconsin law, Binger unsuccessfully argued. Binger also accused Rittenhouse of going out and drinking, wearing inappropriate slogans on t-shirts, and flashing white supremacist symbols while out on bond.

(8,311 posts)... shows a physical address for him.
I don't believe in moving without notification, but if they really showed that the prosecution was unwilling to anonymize that part in the publicly searchable records -- that they tried to both notify and express the concern, even if the prosecutor didn't agree -- then I was pretty sure the judge was going to agree to sealing his current address from public records.
However, now every judge/prosecutor dealing with a infamous defendant who receives a death threat is going to have to anonymize that public record information upon request. If you do it for one, do it for all.

Either way, just saying, I did verify before the judge made his ruling when I was looking up his case that yeah, it's showing his address to the entire Internet. I'd rather a state decided to anonymize all addresses in the publicly searchable system than do it on a case by case basis, tho.
As I said, if they're going to give him an out for his physical address being showed online, other defendants also deserve the same privileges.
