He didnt order enough vaccines. He didnt mobilize enough people to administer the shots. He didnt set up federal vaccine centers.

President Joe Biden lambasted his predecessor, Donald Trump, for failing to do an adequate job preparing the country for a vaccination blitz amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The president made the remarks at a news conference at the National Institutes of Health as his administration announced it had secured hundreds of millions of additional COVID-19 vaccine doses, enough to inoculate the vast majority of Americans by the end of the summer. The U.S. now has contracts for 600 million doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, enough for 300 million of the countrys 330 million residents.
Biden praised scientists for developing a slate of vaccines in record time, two of which, made by Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, have received emergency use approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. But the president said it was no secret that the vaccination program was in much worse shape than my team and I anticipated.

While scientists did their job in discovering vaccines in record time, my predecessor Ill be very blunt about it did not do his job in getting ready for the massive challenge of vaccinating hundreds of millions of Americans, Biden said. He didnt order enough vaccines. He didnt mobilize enough people to administer the shots. He didnt set up federal vaccine centers where eligible people could go and get their shots.

(7,927 posts)The evidence is everywhere that they deliberately delayed and lied to allow time for Kushner and others to profiteer. Trump has all but said, "Too bad for them", meaning those who in his view inevitably were going to get sick. He treated it like a forest fire or hurricane which can't be avoided.
It is also clear he wished for Democrats to be damaged by this.

so they deliberately scuttled any program, policy, or healthcare
policy that would help them.
Yes, it's that ugly.

(28,889 posts)There are fullblown nazi fascists, Russians, and opportunists
among the Reeps in the Senate.
For example, I see Josh Hawley as full nazi fascist
and the likes of Cruz and Rubio as craven opportunists.
Some are more Russian-allied than Nazi, which isn't
any better: Moscow Mitch leads that group, which
includes Lindsey Graham and Ron Johnson.

(47,691 posts)It wasn't his responsibility. Then when the pandemic got worse, he blamed the states, claiming he'd done his part. As bad as we knew things were, it appears it was much worse. Basically, he wasn't doing much of anything other than giving press conferences and running for reelection. Just imagine if he'd been reelected.
