Henry 'Enrique' Tarrio, Proud Boys leader charged in DC, violated release conditions, court official

Source: CNN

Court officials say the leader of the far-right Proud Boys, who was arrested shortly before the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6, violated the terms of his release, according to new court filings.

Henry "Enrique" Tarrio was arrested in DC two days prior to the insurrection on a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property in connection to the alleged burning of a church's Black Lives Matter banner in December, in addition to local weapons charges.

Now, two local judges from the Washington, DC, Superior Court have ordered Tarrio to attend a court hearing on February 22 to explain why his bail shouldn't be revoked, following a dispute over whether Tarrio has stayed in touch with DC court officials while awaiting trial.

One judge said Tarrio allegedly "violated conditions of release," while a separate judge said he "has not reported by phone as required, and is deemed a loss of contact," per court filings.

He wasn't in DC for the insurrection. He was arrested before for burning a banner and local weapons charges.

Many gun charges are misdemeanors that rise to felonies if the gun is used to commit a crime. Varies depending on jurisdiction, as well.

guns carried by a civilian. If not used in commission of a crime relatively light sentence. So I guess this snitch will probably get off.

Misdemeanor in this instance doesn't mean slap on the wrist. Misdemeanor possession in DC is up to a year in jail and $2,500. That's before the destruction of property charges are taken into account.

he's still a RW ahole. I know, just like his ex-potus cult leader, NOTHING serious will come of his situation. He's got leverage. He's a federal law enforcement snitch. Just like low life trump we will all see him skate in and out of court. And in trumps case if that last double cheeseburger doesn't kill him we will see him back at his 'rallies' inciting his cult to more hate and division.

Likely the best thing that happened to him is that he got busted two days before the insurrection, but it sounds like that was by design. Authorities knew he was a potential problem for the 6th and nabbed him ahead of time.

I'm not so sure that nothing will come of his case. I think they'll shoot for the max. They may not get it, but from what I understand, they're not making deals with anyone.

"He's a federal law enforcement snitch."

Hasn't been for several years - 2014, as I recall - and I'd be surprised if it's a factor here.

Which is why he was arrested early. He rats on other Proud Boys, from what I've seen elsewhere. I only hope it's true. Some serious time in Punk City would be good for him.

I don’t think he should be allowed to explain and should be immediately arrested with no bail.
