"I lost 20 retailers, and it's cost me $65 million this year that I won't get back, OK?" Lindell told Insider. "There's your story. Print it right. Don't try and twist this."

The 121-page lawsuit alleges the pillow mogul used conspiracy theories about the election to turbocharge sales for his company, using conspiratorial phrases as discount codes and placing expensive advertisements with like-minded media outlets.

I had to read the article to understand why Lindell gave this interview and why he's claiming he lost money.

The lawsuit has to prove Mike Lindell lied. If he really believed Dominion cheated the election he's not lying, he's just gullible, like so many others. The suit specifies that he purposely told the big lie to promote pillow sales, and they have evidence. That's the motive they want to convince a jury of.
Lindell is claiming he lost money and didn't mean to specifically defame Dominion. He's just stupid.
