Source: Washington Post

The White House plans to withdraw the nomination of Neera Tanden as director of the Office of Management and Budget as early as Tuesday evening, according to people familiar with the matter. Tanden was facing bipartisan opposition from senators due to past comments she made on her Twitter feed.

She would have made a great director. I hope they find a spot for her in the administration that doesn’t need confirmation.

Too many fragile egos couldn’t stand criticism!

76% of all Americans want to see pandemic relief passed, and that includes 60% of republicans, yet the stupid GOPer Congress critters refuse to vote for it. THAT demonstrates their level of commitment to bipartisanship.

I believe Neera Tanden would have done a great job, and totally agree that it's bullshit that she's being singled out for speaking her mind. Compared to all the vile shit spewed by the former occupant of the White House and all of his allies she did NOTHING.

Yet at some point the Biden administration has to acknowledge that there's no path forward and move on. I certainly hope she'll have a job somewhere in the administration where her intellect and talents can be put to use.

I wasn't really compelled by their arguments. I expect that stuff from the right, but I there is a pretty large number of people from the left who are being very unreasonable. It's as if they forget it's not a dictatorship in which they get everything they want, even if it's not how many democrats feel, and for sure not how the people further right may feel. We don't exactly have a huge majority here. Actually, it's not the criticism that bothers me. I welcome that. It's the lack of any practical ideas to get what they want, or any real attempt to convince people that their ideas are best.

I was defending AOC and Ilhan Omar from attacks coming from the left, because don't seem to have any interest in how stuff works, or working with their fellow democrats.
