Capitol Police aware of 'possible plot' by militia group to enter Capitol

Authorities are aware of online chatter about “an identified militia group” potentially planning to enter the Capitol on Thursday.

The United States Capitol Police Department (USCP) said in a statement Wednesday that it has “obtained intelligence that shows a possible plot to breach the Capitol.”

“We have already made significant security upgrades to include establishing a physical structure and increasing manpower to ensure the protection of Congress, the public and our police officers,” it added.

March 4 has been circled on law enforcement’s calendars for months because some QAnon adherents believe former President Trump will be re-inaugurated that day. That was the date for presidential swearing-ins until 1993.

people call it "security theater," which shows that one group hasn't really learned its Jan 6 lessons.

I couldn't find any more recent videos or photos of new Capitol security than from a month ago. The grounds have 'unscalable' 7 foot fencing topped by razor wire.

As long as the Big Lie exists, this security should exist and not leave at the end of March, either. imo

7. Extremists discuss plans to 'remove Democratic lawmakers,' FBI-DHS bulletin warns

The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI sent a joint intelligence bulletin to state and local law enforcement agencies late Tuesday warning that some domestic groups have "discussed plans to take control of the U.S. Capitol and remove Democratic lawmakers on or about" this Thursday, March 4, according to a senior law enforcement official who described the document to NBC News.

The bulletin, titled "National Capital Region Remains Attractive Target for Domestic Violent Extremists," warned that "Domestic Violent Extremists" or "Militia Violent Extremists" were emboldened by the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and therefore pose a higher overall threat.

The bulletin said the militia violent extremists may "exploit public gatherings either formally organized or spontaneous to engage in violence," according to the description of the document.

It also states that domestic violent extremists have a continued "perception of election fraud and other conspiracy theories associated with the presidential transition, which may contribute to (Domestic Violent Extremists) mobilizing to violence with little or no warning."

And, if the people attack the Capitol or other federal property or innocent people, take appropriate action. This shit needs to be put down good and hard.
