At least two women who accused Cuomo of misbehavior said he summoned them to help navigate his iPhon
Source: Business Insider
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo exhibited a pattern of asking younger women on his staff to assist him with minor tech issues, according to a new report from the Albany Times Union published Monday.
Jessica Westerman, the attorney for former Cuomo staffer Charlotte Bennett, told the Times Union that the governor called the 25-year-old into his office to help him navigate between his iPhone's settings and Notes apps, which are normally clearly displayed on the device's home screen.
This came a day after Cuomo reportedly quizzed Bennett on her sex life, including whether she would be open to sleeping with an older man.
Cuomo's sixth accuser, a current staffer who is so far unnamed, was summoned to Cuomo's private residence for a similar issue with his Notes app, according to a person briefed on her complaint who spoke with the Times Union on the condition of anonymity.

(2,355 posts)and he'd have a graphic porn pic on the screen every single time. I never batted an eyelash, mostly because I assumed that was his plan, to get a reaction, but seriously was a creep.
Turned out, other employees who'd known him for a very long time had been to his house and said he had a huge pornographic photo of his wife over the couch. Nice touch.

(7,309 posts)Wasn't this against company policies? Why didn't you report this? Were you afraid if retaliation? Peer pressure?
There are many reasons why women and men don't report harassment right away. I didn't because I was embarrassed. I quit and when my boss asked me, I told him and he fired the guy and I got my job back.

I once worked with a guy who was fired for having porn on his work-provided computer and for watching porn during work hours. He was the meekest, mildest-looking guy. Never would have taken him for a porn freak based on looks alone.

(3,477 posts)When I worked as a dispatcher for a police department, one of the police service operators was caught with not just porn, but kiddie porn, on his work computer. We were all stunned, since he was the nicest, most normal-seeming guy, and he was married with two kids of his own. To this day I can't believe he was dumb enough to have done that.
Worked in IT also.

(67,782 posts)....something that has NOT been reported? If not, why bring that up here?
We had an IT guy who spent a big chunk of his time explaining to employees PCs operated, and many of those were the same employees over and over again. If you saw him, they did NOT do it to hit on him!

Cuomo was involved in "contentious" primary (that's putting it mildly) battles with Justice Democrats' Zephyr Teachout in 2014 and then Justice Democrats' Cynthia Nixon (she called him one of the more corrupt NYS Governors) in 2018.
Here is Chakrabarti's first comment on this, calling the results of the poll "trumpism of the left":

He behaved as tho he was pulling the House strings behind the scenes. So he was TOLD, not asked, to leave.

Every one of them have multiple fundraising PACS & all under the registration hidden from FEC & detatched from revealing how much goes to paying themselves.
Krystal Ball got caught doing this a few yrs ago. She paid herself over 1/3rd of the total raised thru her PAC.
Appears she used the wrong PAC registration.
She should have check with the trust funders 1st.
Millionares & Billionares, they said as they cashed in their campaign cash

(1,002 posts)I am old enough to have used Teletype machines. One of the first iterations from sending telegrams--no more dots and dashes to send messages, you typed messages and reports on a machine with a keyboard and sent them to the appropriate bodies in other locations.
And let's not forget mainframe computers with their keypunch cards--god help you if you dropped a stack on the way to feeding them into the machine--and green bar. Remember the phrase: "If it's on green bar, then it has to be right"
My youngest son was in high school when desktop computers came out running--OMG!--DOS. I called him from my job a number of times for help. Finally, Microsoft Windows arrived!!!
I refused to get a cell phone for many many years and, while I have one now, I predominantly use it as a cell phone and replacement for Magellan maps and directions via the Google Maps app. Very little else.
When I can't figure out how to do something that I want to do; I ALWAYS without fail ask a young person--generally the younger the better. It is their technology and quite reliably they patiently show me what to do in great detail.
I agree with you Budi. I think your comments regarding this new "sin" of Cuomo's are hilarious and true.

(17,577 posts)Hes older than me I believe. What person in that age bracket HASNT asked a younger person for help navigating an iPhone?
When computers became commonplace in the 80s, there were no classes or instruction - at least none I had privy to. It was learn as you go and sink or swim. Many younger people today have had classes in school giving them, at least, a basic knowledge of IT.
No excuse if he used that to harass women, but Im still waiting for the investigation.

(1,322 posts)He has been his whole time in office, I voted for Zephr Teachout when she ran against him in the primaries. He may get stuff done but I believe the accusations. He loves power, his smear campaign against her was disgraceful.
BUT I do not want him to resign, it needs to to through the whole investigative process we do not need to set precedent of accusations removing politicians before solid evidence.
Alan Chartock on WAMC has interviewed him many times when times are good, but anytime heat is on the governor he disappears from interviews.
The hubris of writing a book about leadership on the pandemic is stunning.
