Biden tells migrants not to come to US: 'Don't leave your town'

President Joe Biden discouraged would-be migrants from coming to the United States as his administration scrambles to respond to a surge of unaccompanied migrant children coming into the US.

"I can say quite clearly: Don't come," Biden told ABC in an interview aired on Tuesday.

The President continued: "We're in the process of getting set up, don't leave your town or city or community."

There's been a major spike in the number of migrant children in US custody. More than 4,000 migrant children are in Border Patrol custody, stretching federal resources for shelter space thin. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a statement on Tuesday that "we are on pace to encounter more individuals on the southwest border than we have in the last 20 years."

This kind of move kills a right wing talking point that Democrats are soft on immigration.
I applaud Joe.

1. Wealthy Republicans actually support illegal immigrants as it provides them a cheap labor force.

That is the real reason why they do not want an easy legal way for people to enter because it would cut off the flow of cheap labor and as proof I simply have to point to the fact that after all these years they have not honestly gone after the varies companies and businesses that exploit the people that are not here legally.

obvioulsy can't say that. I hope he IS working towards a better human rights situation that has led these people to flee in the first place.

Do we know who is working on issues regarding human rights in Central America?

Because I know several human rights lawyers who work on the ground in Latin America and the situation is really grim in some places.

of raising it in the nastiest (and falsest) way and this must be part of Biden's agenda.

I wish this could be helped along by the Biden administration. My husband and I were in tears when we heard Drump talking about human beings, and espcially the children, who must have suffered greatly in their own country to get to the U.S.
