Twitter has once again suspended the account of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., her office said Friday, as House Democrats move to expel the conspiracy-embracing congresswoman from Washington.
Greene, who has previously promoted the baseless pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy and supported calls for violence against Democrats, said in a campaign message that Twitter suspended her account around 1 a.m. Friday without explanation, her office told CNBC.
Spokespeople for Twitter did not immediately confirm the suspension or provide comment on Greenes claims.
Twitter had previously temporarily suspended Greene in January for spreading misinformation.

(111,256 posts)to explain that 90% of the job is the daily hustle for campaign money so they can cling to office. Otherwise, she'd have plenty to do, calling every well heeled RWNJ and looneytarian in the country to hit them up for donations.
She wouldn't be in any trouble but her frequent and highly random, disruptive motions to adjourn have managed to piss off a lot of her fellow Republicans. Otherwise, she'd have been tolerated for her full 2 years while colleagues hoped she'd be primaried out next year.

(182,802 posts)and the phone bank calls are for the House election committee and I think the GOP. I wonder if they have to direct her towards only certain donors.

(66,351 posts)In the Senate of Rome, there was a classification of Senator among those who were too poor to run for any of the higher magistracies. They only had enough income to qualify for their Senate seat and nothing else.
They were not allowed to speak in the Senate or otherwise participate in floor debates. Their only privilege was voting on legislation. These Senators were relegated to the back row of benches in the Senate House, and became known as back-benchers.

(6,186 posts)..... lies and conspiracy theories. They MUST do their part to quell the hatred that their platform and others help spread.

(19,201 posts)But I think Zuckerberg loves the far-right banter, and he surely loves the money they spend on propaganda.
Isn't there a point where these guys say, "hey, I've already made more money than I can ever spend", sell the platform , and move on to something else? They must be addicted to the power they believe they hold over the world.

(19,201 posts)I think they get so enamored with their perceived "power", at least in the limited sense of their platform and money, that they seriously hate anyone criticizing or offering suggestions to make their platform run more smoothly. They're "junior Trumps" whose egos have run amok. They earned an inch, now they think they're a ruler. Zuckerberg had one idea, and its debatable if it was even a good idea, but it certainly was lucrative. That's it. He hasn't cured cancer, or COVID, he created a platform for other people to lie to each other. Big whoop. I was on Facebook for less than 24 hours, saw what a cesspool of lies and egomaniacal fools it was, and promptly canceled my account. Needless to say, I'm not a big fan of "social media ".

(4,992 posts)Good luck with that.
Article I, section 5 states (not suggests, not recommends) that it requires a 2/3 vote in the particular chamber to expel a member.
That's 290 members so the Democratic caucus needs to vote 100% AND 68 Republicans cross the aisle.
I just don't see that happening.

(50,557 posts)Republicans are quickly tiring of her antics. Theyll keep Lauren Boebert around because Boebert just does things like posing with guns, but MTG is interfering with the workings of Congress and the GOP isnt going to put up with that much longer.
