Congressional democrats are visiting the Texas-Mexico border as their colleagues from the republican party have done.
Houston democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is among the delegation touring the Texas-Mexico border Saturday.
Pres. Joe Biden's administration faces increased scrutiny for the situation migrants are facing there. While republicans blame Biden, the democrats say former Pres. Donald Trump is to blame and Biden inherited the problem.
The Biden administration could need at least 34,100 additional beds to keep up with the projected number of unaccompanied kids arriving at the US-Mexico border through September, according to internal government estimates obtained by CNN.
