Trump angrily lashes out at Biden for 'cruel and heartless' plan to create jobs by taxing the wealthy

March 31, 2021
Former president Donald Trump criticized his successor Joe Biden in a written statement on Wednesday, claiming the current U.S. president's infrastructure plan is an "attack on the American Dream."
"Joe Biden's radical plan to implement the largest tax hike in American history is a massive giveaway to China, and many other countries, that will send thousands of factories, millions of jobs, and trillions of dollars to these competitive Nations," the ex-president said. "The Biden plan will crush American workers and decimate U.S. manufacturing, while giving special tax privileges to outsourcers, foreign and giant multinational companies."
As a presidential candidate, Trump had vow to implement sweeping infrastructure programs. But he failed to deliver on his promises once he got into the White House.
Biden's infrastructure plan would follow the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan signed into law earlier this month, which was aimed at helping the world's largest economy recover from the damage done by the Covid-19 pandemic.

(799 posts)So it must be Mr. tRump's higher reasoning capabilities!
How does taxing the wealthy result in all those nasty terrible things that he says are going to happen???? The best economy in the US occurred 50s when the top progressive tax rate on the richest of the rich was 90% or so. It was high cotton for everybody in the US, not just the rich!
What a concept- tax the rich for $ that is setting in investments that they have absolutely no chance of ever using, and get it out into the economy via infrastructure projects! Talk about a juice to the economy!
Maybe he should use his "smarter-than-anybody-else" facilities to figure out if there's a co-relation between the two.

(23,273 posts)If he's against it, it will work. He is wrong 100% of the time. And his $1.5 trillion giveaway to the rich certainly didn't create any jobs.

(18,619 posts)Plus, it doesn't do any of that. If anything, it just rolls back his tax cuts to when people were already rich.
Billionaires are launching themselves on outer space vacations! They don't need tax cuts!

(397 posts)Long before the roads and bridges and internet etc. are built or repaired, many, many thousands of jobs will have sprung up to build them. Which in turn will support every business around as construction workers need food and supplies, vehicles to get to work in etc. - theres a reason that most of the countries infrastructure was built after the war, not just to improve or create it, but to drive the economy and create jobs.
To those of you who drive a potholed road to get to work, to those who must cross crumbling bridges to get across town and those who lay awake when it rains, worrying that the levee will fail, I can assure you those repairs will be done on site. Crumbling infrastructure will not be shipped to China for the work to be done there.
