Notre Dame's rector: "15 or 20 years" needed for restoration

Source: AP

PARIS (AP) — The rector of Notre Dame said Friday that the burned-out Paris cathedral and its esplanade could remain a building site for another “15 or 20 years.”

Rector Patrick Chauvet spoke to The Associated Press following Good Friday ceremonies, including venerating the “Crown of Thorns” at Notre Dame’s temporary liturgical base, the nearby church of Saint-Germain l’Auxerrois.

He added that: “I can guarantee that there’s work to do!”

In the days following the April 15, 2019, blaze that engulfed Paris’ Gothic gem, French President Emmanuel Macron set a five-year restoration deadline for 2024, when Paris is to host the Summer Olympics. But French officials quickly backpedaled Macron’s statement, conceding that it was unrealistic to complete the enormous project by that time.

Just think of all the homes they are going to build for the homeless and the sick they will take care of in that time with all that money. O yea I forgot this place isn't for that it's to show how meek they are.

countries).

And, oh yeah, I forgot about all those homeless people! Every day, another story about the homeless in Paris and other places in France. It's their number ONE problem.

Honestly, how many times have you heard about hunger/homelessness in France (compared to us)?

Parisians (and many others) LOVE their heritage in art, architecture and, of course, food. Why do you attack it?

Please list all the problems the French have, compared to what we have in this country. I'd be interested in seeing it....

and of course Christianity exists only in France and their 15 to 20 years of hypocrisy will only extend to it boarders of the country But hey at least some unimportant peddlers of false hope can have a place to hang their pointy hats. In of course some wonderful artistic splendor.

for stained glass. Pourquoi you may ask? It has sand in it not taken out by glaziers. Oui, mon ami, c'est vrai! The glass you get your jams and jellied in are best for infusing color.
This was written about by Louis Comfort Tiffany as he was interested in putting stained glass in people's homes (windows,e.g.).

I know all this because I'm a smarty pants who writes about art history. The pants go well with my stuffed shirt.
