Georgia governor vows a fight after MLB yanks All-Star Game

News of Major League Baseballs decision to pull this summers All-Star Game from Georgia over its sweeping new voting law reverberated among fans Saturday, while Gov. Brian Kemp vowed to defend the measure, saying free and fair elections are worth any threats, boycotts or lawsuits.
The Republican governor said at a news conference that MLB caved to fear and lies from liberal activists when it yanked the July 13 game from Atlantas Truist Park. He added the decision will hurt working people in the state and have long-term consequences on the economy.
I want to be clear: I will not be backing down from this fight. We will not be intimidated, and we will also not be silenced, Kemp said.
Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola and Delta may be scared of Stacey Abrams, Joe Biden and the left, but I am not, he said, referring to companies that have also criticized the new law.

(32,020 posts)As opposed to fear and lies about the 2020 election being stolen, fear and lies about voter fraud being a significantly rampant problem, fear and lies about the state's electorate no longer being reliable Republican automatons?

(70,501 posts).... them the republicans have to cheat, exploit fear and ignorance, and control large sections
of the media to stay in power. It is no accident that the electronic voting machines ALL have
back doors programed into them that allows for viewing and or manipulating the voting data
inside them without leaving any "fingerprints." In some cases this can be done remotely.

(1 post)As if this is going to change anything

(1,896 posts)Things are definitely changing. About half of Americans voted in the last election, and about half of them voted against the interests of you and me. That's 75 million people who favor disruption above order, war above peace, and hatred above all else. It would be nice if all of a sudden 75 million people opened their eyes and ears, and began to realize that they've been supporting some bad policies. I'll disagree with you that nothing is going to change, but I'll agree with you that it isn't happening quickly. Don't give up the fight.

(43,146 posts)We can do this. Examine your spending. I suspect red states have less innovation than blue ones, in a general sense, so we already have an advantage. Know where you're buying from. We know that young college graduates seek fertile pastures, and it's not rural red America. So as they seek to stifle democracy they only shrivel their own communities. They made this red/blue divide. Time to answer the call.

This is why I despise most politicians. All they ever seem to do is make people angry. Sometimes I think we'd be better served if the news reporters never talked to them.
