Andrew Giuliani says he plans to run for New York governor

Andrew Giuliani, a former Trump White House staffer and the son of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, told the Washington Examiner he plans to run for governor of New York in 2022.
Despite a flood of sexual misconduct allegations and a federal investigation into his handling of COVID-19 in nursing homes, Gov. Andrew Cuomo is still expected to run for reelection next year. A Cuomo-Giuliani matchup would set up a clash between two of the most prominent political families in New York.
"Outside of anybody named Trump, I think I have the best chance to win and take the state back," Giuliani told the Washington Examiner.
"I think I'm the right candidate, and this is the right time to help change New York State, and we've got a playbook that works," he added. "It just shows how terribly Cuomo has run the state into the ground and the truth is the assembly in State Senate is to blame as well."

(16,254 posts)Rudy has been fairly quiet over the last month or so. He'd crow from daylight to dawn if his son was running for gov. Let's not bring in another member of that family. Chances are, he isn't much brighter than his dad.

(26,261 posts)He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University, where he was recruited to play golf. Giuliani studied markets, management, and sociology, graduating in May 2009.[6][7] After college, Giuliani worked as a sales intern at CapRok Capital in Rye, New York.[6]
No offense to young Mr Giuliani, but those credentials, paired with his do nothing job at the White House, probably don't qualify him for much other than, oh, let's say his do nothing job with the trump* administration or work as a caddy at Mara Lago.

(7,895 posts)He's in it for the lifestyle and the perks. He'll fold at the first real question at a P.R. session. Something like: Why did Kelly pull his clearance and rescind his unescorted access to the White House? How does a tour guide get banned?
Yes, I know he was stooging for his dad and the Ukraine plot crowd. My point is he's going to have problems answering that question, and it will be asked.
He has no meaningful executive experience at all; Zero. Zip. Nada.
What I'd watch for is who turns up running his campaign.

Weve got a playbook that works? What, the cut spending on anything and everything that helps people playbook? Andy, dude, you cant even make the weak-ass claim of being Americas Mayor. Just shut up and try to help your old man fend off the lawsuits.
