The Biden administration says it may restart construction of the border wall to fill 'gaps' left by Trump

The Biden administration may restart building some of the wall along the United States' southern border, despite President Joe Biden pledging to cease all construction of former President Donald Trump's keystone project.

...

He said areas, where construction may be resumed, could include gaps, gates, and areas where the wall had been built but planned technology had not been installed. Insider contacted the DHS for comment.

President Biden pledged not to build "another foot of wall" during his administration and halted all federal funding to the border wall on his first day in office.

He gave officials a 60-day deadline to determine how to proceed with President Trump's half-finished project.

would be to respect the environmental impact and undo the damage done by the former guy and re-route the wall to reduce/eliminate the adverse environmental damage, including screwing up migration corridors and natural waterways.

I have no problem with gap filling, repairs, and such. But I would like the Biden administration to abide by its campaign commitment not to add to the way.

Oh, and one more thing. Replace the leadership of CBP in DC and at the border, and replace as many border patrol people as possible with officers from other parts of the country. Too many of the ones there now believe that they have the right to treat their arrestees like animal and to ensure that those who do make their way across the border die of thirst before they get much further into the country. Protecting our borders does not automatically translate into treating people like animals.

When every road, bridge, and other necessary infrastructure projects inside our borders are repaired and brought up to codes. Then and only then should one more cent be spent on that delusional project.

I would love to see a complete forensic audit of the spending on that wall. Where did every cent come from and MORE IMPORTANT go to?

I'll bet the Grifter in Chief and his fellow grifters fattened their pockets with plenty of those dollars.

Glorious Leader Trump built a big, beautiful wall that keeps bad people out.

...and Mexico paid for it!

Joe Biden would never do that. There would be full-scale revolt from Dems and he'd immediately lose all the goodwill he's built up with his great performance in office so far.

12. How much of those gaps were simply because they didn't fit Trump's photo ops?

I am wondering if the instruction from Trump was to first finish sections where news media etc could access easy, where there were not too many other distractions, obstacles. Thus they didn't do it systematically, but left gaps where it would be not as noticeable or just take longer because of the terrain.
