Rep. Zeldin says he will seek GOP gubernatorial nomination in NY

Source: Newsday

WASHINGTON — Long Island Rep. Lee Zeldin said Thursday he will run for governor of New York, launching his bid for the Republican nomination with an attack on Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo for diminishing the state and a promise to bring it "back from the brink."

Zeldin, 41, a four-term congressman from Shirley, announced his decision on Fox News Thursday morning after spending the past five weeks testing the waters by talking with county Republican chairs and leaders across the state.

"The bottom line is this: To save New York, Andrew Cuomo’s gotta go," Zeldin said in a press release announcing his candidacy.

"I will bring the kind of relentless, fighting spirit toward helping to save our state that Andrew Cuomo only reserves for multimillion dollar self-congratulatory book deals, cover-ups, abuse and self-dealing," he said in his statement.

The pardon is Trump's grand finale'
"Fk You New York & America".

We're told NY will be much better off without their Democratic Gov Cuomo.

Some people sure have short memories.

Imagine how much better off NY would be: ??
So stop bitchin about Cuomo. Unless, given the same circumstances, the Covid crisis, which is still ongoing, would NY have had a far more efficient outcome with a Gov like Zeldin?

... his comments about Trump will be played many times! Lee is betting on Cuomo running again, with an independent challenge splitting Dems... don't let it happen!

more sane and temperate in writing (whoever actually writes the stuff for him). Without Trump's coattails, it makes sense for him to go for another office. (Senate is out.)

Last year we had an unknown run against him and he won 55-45%, which I was afraid of. Frankly, it's possible he could do less damage as Governor, all things considered, but I would rather he try to stay in the House and we run a stronger candidate.

The family this jerk came from was all old-school liberal socialist Jewish New York people. I was engaged to his father for a while and they were all lovely.
What happened was that the father had behavioral issues, and he was sent to New York Military Academy (same school trump was sent to). Going to that school must twist a kid up something bad.

The only problem is Cuomo didnt leave yet...the Rs were/are banking on Zeldin facing a lefty primary winning candidate after the Dems "forced" Cuomo out...thankfully he isnt giving in...let the investigation play out...anyone notice things have been very quiet lately huh...since Zeldin announced now and Cuomo is opening vaccine places all over the state, getting positive media again, & announced a budget successfully plus things have been quiet.., do we get another accuser..."he waved at me across the hall" to try to rekindle the pressure on Gov Cuomo?
