Texas sues Biden for rescinding Trump's 'Remain in Mexico' policy

Source: The Hill

The state of Texas sued the Biden administration Tuesday seeking to reinstate a Trump-era policy that forced migrants arriving at the southern border to wait in Mexico while applying for asylum.

President Biden in his first days in office directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop a replacement for the policy known as "Remain in Mexico" that forced more than 60,000 asylum seekers south across the border.

“The result of this arbitrary and capricious decision has been a huge surge of Central American migrants, including thousands of unaccompanied minors, passing through Mexico in order to advance meritless asylum claims at the U.S. border,” Texas wrote in its suit, filed alongside Missouri in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Biden’s DHS in February announced that those who had been removed to Mexico under Trump’s Migrant Protection Protocols policy could begin to enter the U.S. DHS started by opening three ports of entry and processing up to 300 people per day.

That he is not the President of the United States, and has no say whatever in the operations of the Executive branch of the Federal government.

So, the governor of Texas is suing the US Federal Government for not forcing migrants from other countries to stay in a third country over which we do not govern, when they legally apply for political asylum, which is not a crime or cross without documentation, which is a misdemeanor. Do I have that right?

Because Honduras and El Salvador and Guatemala are Mexico, and we get to be the boss of all of them? How does that work?

Climate migration, anyone???

It's not migrants robbing the treasury, or profiting from power outages they planned for, or evading taxes, or committing election fraud, or invading our Capitol in a violence insurgency.

Dear Choir:
write your reps and senators daily, especially if you're a blue island in a red sea and you've got a Cawthorn to deal with, and specify Biden Administration policies and positions you support and want passed. The TEA party assholes were a noisy, obnoxious minority. Let's be a noisy, determined majority.

I wish there were some way to determine how much of taxpayers’ money Abbott and Paxton have wasted by filing frivolous lawsuits like this. Abbott bragged that during the Obama years his favorite activity was to file a lawsuit against the administration. I truly hope we can kick both of these incompetent, ignorant idiots out of office next year.

so easy to forget such mundane things as an indicted current Attorney General. He'd be a good addition to examples of law and order in the U.S.A.
