FedEx: Mass shooter was a former employee of the company

Source: Associated Press

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The man who police say fatally shot eight people at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis is a former employee. FedEx spokesperson Bonny Harrison released the information Friday. She says company officials can’t speculate on a motive but are working closely with investigators.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP’s earlier story follows below.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Police scoured a Fedex facility in Indianapolis and searched the suspected gunman’s home Friday, looking for a motive for the latest mass shooting to rock the U.S., as family members of the eight victims spent agonizing hours awaiting word on their loved ones.

The shooter was identified as 19-year-old Brandon Scott Hole of Indiana, two law enforcement officials briefed on the matter told The Associated Press. Investigators searched a home in Indianapolis associated with Hole and seized evidence, including desktop computers and other electronic media, the officials said. The officials spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter.

to wonder how he got the second gun to do the shooting. If the FBI can take and keep his shotgun because his family says he is suicidal, why can't they put his name on the list of people who aren't allowed to buy guns?

Since we can't get rid of guns, let's just not get people angry by letting them go from their jobs. There, problem solved.

10. Maybe the real answer is not to hire people who are mentally ill

Then you won't have to fire them later, and you won't have to worry about them "going postal" and shooting other employees.

If we have fully automated luxury communism and eliminate the workplace entirely, then there won't be workplace shootings.

From severe, debilitating mental illnesses, I am shocked and disappointed, though not entirely surprised, when
faced with cavalier commentary on the subject.

Thanks for the clarification.

If owning firearms is such a big part of their identity that they need to brag about it on social media, assume they will cut loose if crossed. DO NOT HIRE.

It used to be the US Post Office that had that reputation. Anyone else still use the phrase "going postal" ... oh yes I see ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going_postal

Fired from the company, so he's gotta go back and shoot a whole bunch of people, most of whom he probably didn't even know. Because of course it wasn't his fault he was a bad employee.

I hardly think the police would have got there quicker. A woman who was pulling into the parking lot, and heard the shooting, turned around, and called the police right away.
