Fauci rebukes Johnson over questions on vaccine effort: 'We are dealing with an emergency'

Source: THE HILL

By Tal Axelrod - 04/23/21 06:48 PM EDT

...............................

“There’s a pretty good reason. We have 567,000 people who’ve died so far in this country from this disease. That is a really, really good reason to get people vaccinated with a vaccine that you’ve shown is highly efficacious and quite safe," Fauci said on MSNBC. "And that’s the reason for the emergency use authorization.

........................................

“Why is this big push to make sure everybody gets a vaccine, and it's to the point where you better impose it, you’re gonna shame people, you’re gonna force them to carry a card to prove that they’ve been vaccinated so they can just be in society,” he added.

..............................
Johnson’s comments also came as the government grapples with vaccine hesitancy among various demographics, including Republican men, prompting criticism that his remarks could dissuade people from getting shots.

“Ron Johnson’s rhetoric is dangerously irresponsible and will prolong the pandemic by discouraging people from getting vaccinated,” Zach Hudson, a spokesperson for the liberal super PAC American Bridge 21st Century, said. “More people will get COVID and die due to Ron Johnson’s comments yesterday. He’s a disgrace and Wisconsin can’t get rid of him soon enough.”...............................

“Ronald H. Johnson is bad for Wisconsin,” Chair of the Wisconsin Dems Ben Wikler says. “And at the same time, no one should underestimate the strategy he is using here.”

Seriously, cast him as a supernatural horror and you just have to show his face a few times. He is a frightening as the doll that opened it's eyes on Night Gallery. He creeps me out and I fear that in this case, the cover is accurate to the book.

the restrictions on business and recreation -- but at the same time, they don't endorse efforts that will save lives and incrementally return their "freedoms".

The fact is they want now and without any intervention, what is impossible. The Virus is not going away. If anything, it's still spreading, mutating, and becoming more potent.

Fauci and the CDC are doing all that is humanly possible each day.

at highest numbers in this country from Covid? I know sociopath Trump doesn't care if they die and he would probably think that is less votes for Dems.

Why else would they advocate for things that will cause death?

SO sick of them! I watched the interview. Good for Dr. Fauci! He's starting to look like he's using as much restraint as possible to deal with the bullshit coming from the right (wrong) wing. He's such a brilliant man who knows exactly what he's talking about. It's not like he's been doing this his entire life while they've been figuring out new ways to ruin the country ... oh wait. Dr. Fauci is the expert here! Why is EVERYONE not listening to him? Why even give these shitstains airtime?

To be constantly bombarded with the utter stupidity of these questions has got to wear on his patience. I know it does mine. Honestly, it scares the crap out of me to think of where we'd be without Dr. Fauci.
