Source: CNN
After several hours of contentious debate, the Republican-controlled Florida House passed its version of a controversial bill that would add new restrictions to the voting process.
The bill, SB 90, passed on a party-line vote of 77-40 on Wednesday. The bill now goes back to the Senate with a slew of changes, after the House adopted a "strike-all amendment" that brought SB 90 closer to a similar bill that had been moving through the House.

(658 posts)I hope something can be done at the federal level to reverse this. I don't mind the rules on a personal level, I'll do whatever I have to do to make sure that my vote counts, but I'm sure that many will just take the stance that "it's too difficult to vote, so why bother". I'd imagine that's why they're doing it.
I'm not sure what not allowing private donations for elections means. I'd like to know a little more about that. Are they no longer allowing private citizens to donate to candidates?
