Senate votes to open floodgates, passes bipartisan $35 billion water infrastructure bill
Source: NBC News
The Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly passed a $35 billion bill designed to bolster states' water infrastructure with a bipartisan 89-2 vote.
The only two senators to vote against the Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Act were Republicans Mike Lee of Utah and Ted Cruz of Texas.
One of the bill's authors, Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., said the legislation will "foster economic growth, build climate-resilient infrastructure, and help ensure that all Americans have access to clean, safe water."
The bill dedicates billions of dollars to upgrade drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the country.

If Senators Lee and Cruz like dirty water so much I'll send them some next time I get my septic tank pumped.

Sounds like the Repubs know that stonewalling everything Biden and the Democrats propose is not a winning strategy.

They'll get to proclaim "see? we can govern, too."
They'll claim that Democrats are lying about wanting bipartisanship, and will say for all future bills that the Dems don't "compromise" the way they have.
This is lucy's football held down, which will in the future be yanked every time we charlies 'hope' the lucys will hold it.
As for the rest of the party, the red state battleground level will doggedly persist to "prove" Trump won with a private ninja force taking over publicly owned election ballot counting, to keep belief in Biden's illegitimacy, and their voting base's denials, suspicions and grievances alive.
Even as police murder and mass shootings might recede, the unvaccinated will keep waiting and suffering with pride.
