Everyone is panicking': Some Richmond-area motorists scramble for gasoline as shutdown of key pipe

Source: Richmond Times Dispatch

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on Tuesday declared a state of emergency in Virginia because of gasoline supply disruptions caused by a cyberattack on the operator of a key East Coast fuel pipeline.

So, i expect something like this to happen in a city that I've never heard of in NC, but not in Richmond VA.

luckily I filled up just 2 days ago. going home tonight, however, at 9pm from west end to south side, every gas stations have a line.

Just be aware and go when there are less people i suppose.

It's a hack. It will be resolved in a couple of days. People seem to have the attention spans of small flightless birds these days. But then, millions of them voted for Trump

People have already demonstrated they can’t handle the minor inconvenience of wearing a mask. If this goes on for a week and stations run dry, I expect it to go Mad Max out there.

I hate DeSantis, but he did this yesterday in FL for the same reason, and while Govs in hurricane states do it a week or more before 'canes, to stop gouging. It is a good thing.

However, I wish we could call it something besides a state of emergency. When people hear the word "emergency," they tend to panic.

I also wish that when this happens with gas, that there would be a mandatory cap set on the amount each vehicle could buy. People filling up their giant SUVs and then filling up gas cans is ridiculous.

Even though no one expects this to last through the end of the week, you know the GOP has the cameras rolling. The mid term campaign ads almost write themselves.

“Under the Biden administration, we have gas lines, inflation, unrest in the Middle East, and shootings in Times Square. Can we really afford the Democrats in power for two more years?”

There will probably be flashbacks to the 70’s interspersed in the ads.

They'll have it fixed by week's end, or sooner. What's the freakout about? People are effing stupid.
