A central Pennsylvania lawyer who is facing federal charges that he threatened to kill his wife and Democratic members of the U.S. Senate has been disbarred by consent by the state Supreme Court.
The action that prevents Kenelm Shirk III, 71, of Cornwall, Lebanon County, from practicing law comes as Shirk prepares for a trial scheduled in U.S. Middle District Court in Harrisburg for August. Shirk maintained a law practice in Ephrata, Lancaster County.
The federal charges were lodged against Shirk in February, several days after his arrest by state police.
Investigators said Shirk had an AR-15 rifle, two handguns, a large quantity of ammunition, rope, gloves, and about $5,000 in several rolls of $50 bills when he was arrested at a convenience store near Shippensburg on Jan. 21. Police said they used Shirks cell phone to locate him.

(3,013 posts)Of course at 71 and an apparent whackadoodle his legal career may have well been over unless he joined the Guilliani/Powell/Wood team.

(38,601 posts)From the Old English name Cenhelm, which was composed of the elements cene "bold, keen" and helm "helmet". Saint Kenelm was a 9th-century martyr from Mercia, where he was a member of the royal family. The name was occasionally used during the Middle Ages, but has since become rare.

Edited to add: This alleged crime took place AFTER 1/6, so numbnuts here should have known his cell phone was tracking him. What a tool.

Yeah, they needed to disbar him. Maybe that will be enough of a wakeup call to see the appropriate doctors.
