Maybe June 1st, anytime after Memorial day weekend would be a better time in my opinion.

Various excerpts:

COVID In Minnesota: Executive Council Ends Statewide Mask Mandate, 5/14/21

Minnesota’s statewide mask mandate is no longer in effect.

An executive council voted 5-0 to lift the mask mandate early Friday afternoon following updated guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, which said fully vaccinated people can forgo their masks in most indoor and outdoor settings.

Local governments still have the ability to instill their mandates; both Minneapolis and St. Paul’s will remain in effect for the time being. Private businesses too are able to enforce their own guidelines.

However the CDC guidance does not apply to health care settings, such as hospitals, doctors’ offices, and long-term care facilities. Correctional facilities and homeless shelters will also still require masks, as will planes, trains, and other forms of public transportation, including Metro Transit.

On Thursday evening, Minnesota Department of Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm expressed her reservations about the announcement, saying she had “mixed feelings,” and the MDH guidance “will remain that people who are not vaccinated are still at risk.”

Walz said that though he was still analyzing information from the announcement, he was “excited,” calling it a “great day” for Minnesota.

I heard Health Commission Malcolm say on the radio an hour ago that ideally there would be a mask mandate for unvaccinated people, but something like that would be impossible to enforce. So they did away with the mask mandate, though as indicated above, localities and private businesses can have their own mask mandates, and certain settings still have a mask mandate.

I'd rather we get the Covid numbers down some more first.

"How come SHE got to go to Florida when the rest of us were told not to? "

Maybe it wasn't a good idea to take a free ride on a private plane. I thought she was smarter than that.

My family is going to carry on the way we have, with masks, until such time as we're probably the last to do so. No harm in not rushing in.

Meijer and Krogar will still require masks. Anti vaxxers and anti maskers are one and the same. We won't know who they are.

I don't see how this is not great news. CDC takes the most recent facts and applies higher quality expert analysis on it than all of us could muster in a lifetime.

If CDC says we're safe we're safe. Vaccine spring here we come!

Essentially what she is saying is we aren't going to protect the anti-vaxxers any longer. Get your vaccine or risk getting covid and all the potential side-effects that come with it.

I'm pro this. I'll wear a mask if businesses or friends request it. Otherwise, it's off.

I am supportive of those who want to continue to wear a mask. Everyone has to decide for her/his self at this point.
