McConnell opposes House's bipartisan Jan. 6 commission bill

Source: Politico

Former President Donald Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are also against the commission proposal.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told Republicans on Wednesday that he is opposed to an independent commission investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection as envisioned by the House.

McConnell had signaled on Tuesday that he was undecided but came down more firmly after another day of deliberations, according to a person with direct knowledge of his remarks. The Kentucky Republican’s stance casts serious doubt on the future of legislation creating a bipartisan commission on the Capitol riot — a bill set to pass the House later Wednesday -- if major changes aren’t made.

This will be discounted as a partisan investigation. Nobody will accept the results. Nobody will end up testifying under oath. We won't learn a thing.

But that's America. Shithole country that we are.

It is a good thing for the Cyber Ninjas to do another recount in Arizona using questionable (at best) methods, but it is a bad thing for Congress to get to the bottom of who is responsible for the attack on the House of Representatives?

OK... any partisanship going on here?
Gimme a break, America. Would anybody really vote to put these assholes in power again in 2022?

Media, anything from you? Pelosi bent over backwards for their demands. And this is how it keeps ending. Wash, rinse, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. Lucy is so damn fast with that football. Dems should have a shredded hamstring by now. The definition of insanity has changed in the dictionary. It just says “Dems trusting GQP to work together”.
1.5 years left with power to get justice. Or have power ever again after the GQP destroy voting rights forever.
Stop the Reaching across the aisle, unless it is to slap the shit out of McConnell, Green, McCarthy........ oh fuck, just every damn one of them.
Trust no one whose last name starts with “Mc”. They are McRussians only wanting to destroy America. Only care about McMoney and McPower.

...then let the congressional committees run the investigation. Democratic leadership, majorities, and the power to subpoena.

If they don't want to be part of the 1/6 insurrection investigation, they can testify as witnesses under subpoena!

Justice is coming!

We no longer have a functioning Congress. Donald Trump is effectively still President because nothing get done without his consent because nothing can make it to President Biden's desk. Trump now controls the filibuster. And Trump is officially under criminal investigation. How did America get so completely destroyed?

Justice matters.

At least two currently ongoing criminal investigations with proven evidence presented to Grand Juries to issue formal indictments.

That's not lousy Civil cases with fines only for punishments.

That's prison sentences pending upon guilty verdicts, whatever his fascist Qult says.

I have a feeling he won't be as nice as those on any committee. The committee at least gives the Republicans a chance to make their case in the open.

Furthermore the GQP's obstruction of any investigation yields a goldmine for Democratic campaign ads in the 2022 election.

If Pelosi and Democrats need to go alone in this investigation so be it. Many new aspects will be opened and everything will go back to the republicans and shithole. This partisan bullshit is what republican's do best, let them have it.

Move on and let the American people know the truth.
