GOP leader Kevin McCarthy condemns Marjorie Taylor Greenes tweet comparing vaccinations to Holocaust

Source: CNBC

House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday condemned a member of his own party, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, for comparing a company’s Covid vaccination rules with the treatment of Jewish people in Nazi Germany.

“Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling,” McCarthy said in a statement.

“The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity committed in history. The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling,” he said.

CNBC has reached out to Taylor Greene’s spokesman for a response.

“At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“Americans must stand together to defeat anti-Semitism and any attempt to diminish the history of the Holocaust.

“Let me be clear: the House Republican Conference condemns this language.”

McCarthy’s silence about it speaks not volumes but whole libraries about him. Just imagine what Nancy Pelosi would have done had one of her freshman done that to her. Not sure exactly what her actions would have been, but they would have been swift, public, and final.

Kevy has apparently decided not make Marjie the Mouth upset, even when she removes his testicles publicly.

House GOP leaders speak out against Greene's Holocaust rhetoric

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/05/25/gop-leaders-marjorie-taylor-greene-holocaust-rhetoric-490737

The freshman Georgia lawmaker has continued to create fresh headaches for her party's leaders since arriving in Congress as Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has struggled to rein her in.
Greene compares House mask requirements to Holocaust

Updated: 05/25/2021 12:33 PM EDT

..................
......................

After facing widespread condemnation from her own party on Tuesday, Greene defended her remarks and blamed the “media” and “American left” for stoking outrage.

The “attempts to shame, ostracize, and brand Americans who choose not to get vaccinated or wear a mask are reminiscent of the great tyrants of history who did the same to those who would not comply,” she tweeted.

“I'm sorry some of my words make people uncomfortable, but this is what the American left is all about,” she added in another tweet.

Greene, who has been a lightning rod for controversy, has already been stripped of her committee assignments for suggesting some of the nation’s deadliest school shootings were a hoax and endorsing social media posts that called for violence against Democrats. But McCarthy and House Republicans stood by her then, arguing that the comments at issue were made before she came to Congress.

Yet Greene has continued to create fresh headaches for her party's leaders since arriving in Congress as McCarthy has struggled to keep her in line. Greene also recently came under fire for harassing Rep. Marie Newman (D-Ill.) over her transgender daughter and aggressively confronting Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in the Capitol hallways. That dust-up renewed Democratic calls to expel Greene, but doing so would require support from a two-thirds majority in the House — an extremely high bar that is unlikely to happen.

thanks for the link...bookmarked as a reference on our inhumanity, for whatever reason, toward each other as human beings. Sad that African-Americans today represent the continued genocide of POC.From slavery to the destruction of "Black Wall Street" with the resulting slaughter of men, women, children, OLD FOLKS. Lynchings, one just recently. Burning alive. Torture, the Emmitt Till case stands out in the spotty historical record of race relations of that era. Sandra Bland. Trayvon Martin. Michael Brown. Eric Garner. Breona Taylor et al. George Floyd. And many, many allies of all races and cultures. Kyle Rittenhouse killings. Cheney, Goodman, Schwerner. Viola Luozzo et al.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Deletes Retweet Calling Kevin McCarthy a 'Feckless C**t' and 'Moron'

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) shared, praised and then deleted a tweet describing House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as a "moron" and "feckless c**t" on Tuesday.

Hours before Greene shared the tweet, McCarthy had blasted her for making an "appalling" analogy between her struggle to comply with the mask mandate imposed by House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the plight of the Jews who lived in Nazi Germany. Greene praised Twitter user @ASimplePatriot for "seeing the truth" by denouncing McCarthy's criticism and complimenting her support for Israel. She deleted her retweet minutes later.

"Look you moron, nobody supported Israel in their recent conflict with Hamas more than MTG," the original tweet replying to McCarthy read. "Her analogy may not have been perfect but you seriously need to get a grip you feckless c**t. Pelosi is the villain here."

"Thank you for seeing the truth and how much I support Israel and stand against the left's support for Hamas terrorists," Greene commented while sharing the tweet.
