This concert ticket costs $18 — or $1,000 if you’re not vaccinated

The promoter says he’s offering a discount. The governor’s office says he’s violating Florida rules.

“I didn’t know that caring about my community would make me Hitler,” he said in an interview Saturday, declining to give his age out of concern for his privacy. He said he and the band are flagging the threatening email to law enforcement.

No way is a vaccination requirement against the law for an event where $ changes hands.

"NO Shirt NO Shoes NO Service" NObody argues .
Why is this different?

It's a stupid ridiculous Texas law and will get struck down, having been put up for the sole purpose of causing needless, senseless arguments.

I hope this is the case that gets it struck.

9. Where they have the loophole is the EUA

Its still not an "approved" drug so they have that argument. Yes, we know its a formality. But its still a "thing". I'll also bet that insurance companies, for the same reason, will try to refuse paying for any treatment that MAY be needed after getting the vaccine. Even though that will be extremely rare.

But i would HOPE the FDA approval comes before the next school yr starts. And since other countries have approved it and we have about 200 million doses given here, we should have enough evidence for approval IMO

3. It's the Florida Governor who made a big thing out of this

I think DeSantis is trying to signal all the ChumpHumpers out there. Otherwise nobody would have even noticed or cared. This isn't their kind of music anyway.

as proof to get in and Dumbsantas says that's against the law.
But needing photo IDs and proof of birth and driver license and residency and where your parents came from or how many times you said bad things about the orange hemorrhoid, etc....just to exercise an American's "CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO VOTE is ok?

Am I missing something?

Lets crush the unconstitutional FL law in court! It's his concert. He can charge what he wants. Unvaccinated morons are NOT a protected class. Go fuck yourselves.

7. Florida law says they can't ban someone for being unvaccinated.

The band isn't doing that, they're just giving a discount to those that have.
I think they found a loophole.

8. He needs to reverse this.

It's an old marketing ploy, but he's got it reversed. It's like you can't charge more to use a credit cards, but you can offer a discount for cash. He needs to market the tickets at $1000, but a discount down to $18 is being offered to vaccinated people.

13. Either way is likely a problem

If you normally sell suits for $100, you can't raise the price to $400 one day and then say that you're running a 75% off sale at $100.

By the FTC's language, if $1,000 isn't "a bona fide price at which the article was offered to the public on a regular basis for a reasonably substantial period of time" - then they have a problem.

Since none of the bands appear to be the Rolling Stones, it's highly unlikely that they've ever sold a ticket for anything close to $1,000.

11. Here's an idea; create an LLC for each concert

Its cheap to do in FL. So if the state comes with a huge fine, tough shit, the LLC has no assets. Since ABC Corp promoted the events, Joe Blow cant be fined, ABC Corp has to be
