Obama suggests GOP voting laws are 'rigging' the game, corporate America needs to speak up

Source: NBC News

Former President Barrack Obama suggested Friday that efforts by Republican legislatures to change voting laws amount to "rigging" the system.

During a virtual discussion at the Economic Club of Chicago, Obama said Republicans have embraced "patently false" claims that the 2020 election was stolen, and excoriated them for instituting "voter suppression methods" through state legislatures.

"That's the kind of dangerous behavior we are going to have to push back on," Obama said.

“This really has to do with the basic rules well all have agreed to, to keep this diverse, multiracial democracy functioning. Are we going to stick to those rules or are we gonna start rigging the game in a way that breaks it? And that's not going to be good for business, not to mention for our soul

squawk about a non-existent problem, then take draconian steps to "level the playing field."

Blather, rinse, repeat.

It's worth remembering that Trumpsky won an election he had already said was "rigged" against him before losing one.

It's not just him. It's the entire right wing going fascist.

why would they care about “rigging the game”? This sounds like more of the “pretty please, everybody play nice, please…” rhetoric that gets nothing done. Corporations are there to make money, not anything related to a soul.

which there won’t be if Republicans steal an election. Also, corporations today depend on the business of minority and lgbtq Americans so they don’t want to look like they’re against them.
