Less than a quarter of Black Americans had received their first Covid-19 shot as of June 3, amid a weekslong stagnation that has defied the governments ramped-up effort to accelerate vaccinations and reach the nations most vulnerable communities.
The slowdown has put Black Americans behind the pace set over the past month by other racial and ethnic groups tracked by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The trend line worries health officials and experts who say the immunization drive is running into a particularly complex web of distrust, outreach challenges and stubborn barriers to access.
Its a tough layer that we have to address it requires relationship building and its going to take a little longer, said Octavio Martinez, executive director of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, who sits on the White Houses Covid-19 Health Equity Task Force. We have a systemic issue here.

(13,538 posts)Which company do you think will be the first to do it? That hospital in Houston is being sued now, although I guess its the whole "unapproved" dance being done on that one.
And I wish the approval would hurry up; they've got data on all the original folks from the trial & now 200 million+ MORE people.
And I'd hope the schools would require it but I'm in GA so who knows

Not just any big name stars or other famous people but someone they personally know .
There could be history and negative personal experience which makes them reluctant to get this .

That government ID around around your neck doesn't mean ****
