According to a report from Politico, the antics of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) since she has been in Congress are turning off voters in one of the most important cities in her district and creating a groundswell to defeat her in the 2022 midterm election.
Politico's Jennifer Oldham reports that the city of Pueblo, Colorado could hold the key to whether Boebert is returned to Congress and, according to her report, "Among voters in Pueblothe largest and most politically unpredictable city in Boebert's vast districtthere is a growing sense of exasperation with the freshman representative not yet six months into her tenure."
Case in point, Sol Sandoval, who now intends to run against her.
"When I think of Lauren Boebert, I think of that expression 'all hat and no cattle,'" Sandoval explained. "When she had the opportunity to support stimulus funding, she chose Trump over us. It's very frustrating."
One key factor animating voters growing in opposition to her is her opposition to President Joe Biden's $2 trillion infrastructure plan, with Charles Perko, a local union leader upset that he can't get through to her about the impact it would have on jobs in the region, adding she won't talk to him and her local office is often closed.....................

And she has another year and a half left to do more damage.

(7,715 posts)think about this. Especially if there are any from this buffoon's district.
I want to say this is good, but then I realize there's also Major Traitor Greene, Gomer, Gym Jordan, Gosar, etc etc. We have miles to go.
But as a wise person once said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step!

(943 posts)Kind of our city equivalent to the Midwest. If they're seeing through the BS, this gives me hope, and also indicates the attack vector we need to use against repubs in 2022.
We shall see if it's enough, but there some moderately sized blue areas in bubbleheads district that should help too, like Telluride.

(718 posts)After spending five minutes listening to her it should be clear who she is and what she stands for.

(1,690 posts)It owns the libs though. Im frustrated by the inability to correct the last 4 years of whatever you can call it, but Ive come to the conclusion that people do elect people who represent them. So perhaps her district is less disappointed in her and more embarrassed to be considered dipshits. If your sole criteria is electing people who will annoy people who disagree with you on any topic youre going to find that dipshits will probably do the trick better than anything else.
And for those of us who havent noticed, stupid does hurt, just maybe not the perpetrators.

Problem is: very few rock stars have any idea about how to govern.

Our government is going to remain a cyclic shitshow until more people understand that.

Of course we won't find out for sure until June 31st.

It's hard to understand let alone do anything about it, but we must penetrate the hard right ideology and find our inner humanitarian and save these people from destroying themselves and us along with them.

(20,897 posts)A Democrat pickup perhaps? A Democrat would be far more serious about what the needs of the District than a Republican of Boebert's ilk would.
How rude of Bowbert to ignore the issues facing the people. Elections have consequences.

(10,297 posts)They can vote for a representative that represents their views and works for them or they can listen to the (usually) out-of-state BS artists again, let their eyes glaze over, set their thinking processes on pause, and vote for the candidate with the (R) after her name.
IMO some people have to learn that voting Stoopid is optional, not mandatory.

(29,035 posts)And, as a Coloradan, I am embarrassed by this idiot. My county is red and stupid, but we're in Boulder's district so get a sane representative. The natives want us in Broebert's district. Like one of our Commissioners (who claim to be unaffililiated) said when they wanted to drop the county mask mandate before the state did.. we're Republicans after all. Thankfully he did get some blowback for that dumbass remark.

(1,691 posts)They (not just CO) elect idiots who spout hate and have not a single idea for improving the people's lives in their district and then those same people act surprised when their rep does nothing but obstruct and spout hate.
Maybe those same folks need to get over their hatred of Dems and do what is right not only for them and their districts, but for the country.

(3,454 posts)Colorado is going to gain a seat, and Boebert's district isn't as red as one might think. She did not win in a blowout last year: it was 51 - 45 and she won by about 27,000 votes.
Her district is HUGE, geographically, and it eats up pretty much the entire Western half of the state. In fact, Colorado is representative of the entire country. The 3 Republican districts take up a lot of territory, while the 4 Dem districts don't take up a lot of territory at all! The 1st district in Denver is deep blue, and a lot of votes get "wasted" in electing their Rep 74 - 26. I wish there was some way to spread some of that blue westward!

(6,269 posts)embarrassed? Really? They humiliated themselves. Yet after talking with a friend at an outdoor gathering, who returned from Colorado just the day before, Colorado IS a haven for violent, hateful RW white supremacist magrats. So the voter knew what they were getting when voting. No matter the news of their "embarrassment". Please!!!
