Disney World Dropping Indoor Mask Mandate
Source: Forbes
Walt Disney World in Florida will lift its indoor mask mandate for vaccinated guests on June 15, the resort announced Friday, the latest unwinding of precautions taken by Disneys largest theme park amid the coronavirus pandemic in response to rising vaccination rates and new public health guidance.
Starting June 15, vaccinated guests at Walt Disney World will not be required to wear face coverings except on Disney transportation like buses and monorails, where masks will still be required.
We expect guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, the resort said on their website, though Disney noted they will not ask guests for proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
Disney moved to drop its mandate after nearby theme park Universal Orlando Resort had already dropped its indoor mandate in May, and after Orange County, Floridawhere Walt Disney World is locatedlifted its mask requirements and state of emergency last week.

(11,915 posts)Yet, you would punish all parents with criminal charges

(12,503 posts)then parents have no business bringing their child into a potentially virus laden atmosphere, especially when the medical community is presently discussing the shocking heart problems children are experiencing.
I call it irresponsible parenting, and since they are quite careless and/or stupid, they need to be cleared by child care authorities.

(11,915 posts)Schools?, Playgrounds? Wal Mart? Theme Parks ? Movie Theatres ?
If that is the criteria, you are essentially threatening parents with being investigated/charged for allowing their children under 12 to leave the house and go out in public. Just keep them under house arrest, right?
Yet, if a parent followed that criteria and kept their child inside the house with no interactions with other children or attending school, they would likely also be investigated for child abuse as well.
Why are you so hellbent on investigating and arresting parents for trying to give their children some semblance of a normal childhood?

(12,503 posts)with one of the highest death rates in the country. I didnt say a gawd damn thing about schools, playgrounds, Walmart, etc.
In a state with millions of unvaccinated racist maganazis, and tourists from everywhere, like India, with the killer variant, exposing kids is to it before vaccination is careless and stupid. Standing in lines, closeness of individuals on rides, close quarters in any amusement park scenario is happening too soon, and if some infected foreigner, or local, on that ride, or near your booth, seat, etc is spreading virus, then youre at risk.
Remember DW is opening this soon the baby trump governor of Florida demands it. Its only June. Give it a few months until the variants are isolated.

(11,915 posts)Since the vaccine has not yet been authorized for those under 12, that makes them automatically guilty. Lock 'em up and take their kids

(21,563 posts)and Disney did not "open up" because "baby trump" demanded it. When desantis removed all the mask mandates, which was early May, Disney ignored him and continued on with them and every step of the way went with the guidelines of the CDC and local officials.

(2,252 posts)To boycott all the tourist/death traps in the state of Florida. Disney, Universal, Busch Gardens. Let them know that their silence isn't appreciated while Racist Ron Boy turns the state of Florida into his own personal stepping stone on his way up to fascist POTUS status. If the virus doesn't get you, one of the open carry not jobs in Florida might blow you to bits. Better hide that open bag of Skittles. Now you too can end up mowed down like Heather Heyer, R.I.P. was in Charlottesville Virginia back in 2017. And you thought dying in Florida is all about Red Tides and Hurricanes.

(11,949 posts)The day Disney announced re-masking per CDC guidelines. The same ones they were following on June 11. And announced mandatory vaccines. Something almost no business in Florida has done.
Cute.
Feel free to criticize the CDC. Criticizing a company for following them and even exceeding them is disingenuous.
Perhaps Disney should come to DU for their Covid policy?
No revision in my criticism.
