I like that saying. As a Christian, it is not appropriate for us to say RIP for other religions. LeftInTX Jul 2021 #8

I am so grateful for the people that have saved all the survivor stories. May they always be a reminder of what can happen so quickly in a modern, educated society.

Growing up in Brooklyn in the 1950s we had several people in the neighborhood with numbers tattooed on their arms. We were too young to understand what that represented.

As another link to our past, a link to the Jewish past, dies, another voice leaves an important chorus. Holocaust denial and minimalization have been ongoing, and increasing in past years. First-hand witnesses, like her, are important to combat the idiocy. Furthermore, with more and more people misusing the Holocaust in analogies, or using the memories of people like her to bolster their own bigoted agendas, her loss is even more profound. Some never miss the opportunity to devalue the Jew and her/his life, even upon her/his passing.

Eastern Orthodox Christians also say, "May his/her memory be eternal" as part of the memorial.
