Rand Paul Says He'll Make Criminal Referral to DOJ Against Dr. Fauci
Source: Gizmodo
I will be sending a letter to the Department of Justice asking for a criminal referral because he has lied to Congress, Senator Paul told Sean Hannity.
Paul, a senator from Kentucky, alleges that U.S. funding of research on infectious diseases in Wuhan, China at the Wuhan Institute of Virology may have played a role in the covid-19 pandemic thats ravaged the world over the past year and a half, sickening at least 191 million people and killing over 4.11 million.
Senator Paul says hes worried that so-called gain-of-function research was conducted in Wuhan that may have led to the novel coronavirus being developed artificially and released into the world, intentionally or not. Gain-of-function research is when an organism is genetically modified to have a new ability, such as agricultural crops being more resistant to pests.

I don't know why anyone would give him even a nod of acknowledgment or an ounce of credibility on ANY issue.

(27,823 posts)I spent years credentialing physicians and his board situation was a real teaching tool. But, yea, he's an all around piece of bad work, that's for sure.
FBaggins
(28,670 posts)Just not one that indicates that he couldn't pass the certification exam and thus isn't a good doctor.
By all accounts... he's a pretty good eye surgeon who donates lots of his time doing it for free in the third world and for the uninsured. Frankly... I'd say we would all be better off if he did that instead of "senatoring"
Siwsan
(27,823 posts)Prior to 1992 the board was considered a lifetime certification. He took it in 1995. His attitude was, if he has to recertify every 10 years, then so should all of the physicians who were 'grandfathered' into lifetime status. So, he started his own board, with family members. As I recall, he lured in less than 100 physicians and his 'National Board of Ophthalmology' was dissolved. How he thought that coming up with his own board would EVER pass muster with the medical community, as a whole, speaks a lot to his mindset.
With his lack of board certification, he'd be hard pressed to be contracted by any hospital or credentialed by any insurance company so he'd better keep his day job.

(2,704 posts)Its a false referral to DOJ alleging a crime that did not happen. Its all grandstanding with the purpose to discredit a good man and then pretend that the Biden Administration is "covering" for this good man when DOJ throws the referral in the garbage.

It just gets absolutely ridiculous wasting time to deal with that nonsense, and I must say that Dr. Fauci is handling it better than I could.

(13,286 posts)Of course, I doubt he has never been called a liar to his face by a witness who is giving sworn testimony. That must have really punctured his massive ego, knowing that's now in the Congressional Record. I hope he is man enough to call back Fauci when the DOJ reports that the doctor did not lie during his previous testimony. I'm not going to hold my breath.
