Trump ally Tom Barrack strikes a $250 million bail deal to get out of jail

Source: CNN

CNN —
A federal magistrate judge on Friday ordered Tom Barrack, a longtime associate of former President Donald Trump who was indicted earlier this week on charges of illegal foreign lobbying, released from jail pending trial, freeing him on a bail package that includes a $250 million bond secured by $5 million in cash.

The judge also ordered Barrack to wear a GPS location monitoring bracelet, barred him from transferring any funds overseas and restricted his travel to parts of Southern California and New York. He will have a curfew to be determined by pretrial services.

He must appear in federal court in Brooklyn on Monday, where he will be arraigned. A spokesman has said he intends to plead not guilty.

Liberty and Justice for all that can afford it.

The prosecution asked for him to stay in jail before being moved to New York, describing him as "a serious risk of flight due to his “vast wealth,” foreign connections and access to private aircraft."

WHY would he not head to the UAE with minimal delay. There is NO extradition treaty between UAE and US. He can get someone to smuggle him in on a private jet with no passport.

Do the justices on courts today have NO imagination?

$750 million that would be hard to transfer out of the US. He'd have to think long and hard about that.

Private jets can be hired for rich people like him or one of his allies could get him out of the country.

Tom Barrack must be busted down and broken, and never see another day of freedom.

Tom Barrack is a traitor. He sold out US interests to enrich himself. It pisses me off to see scum like him game the system. If there's any justice, he will die a slow, painful death from some hideous disease.

My nieghbor who used to be a very bad man, stepped off the crap sidewalk onto the gutter of a busy road and some driver reported him as stumbling into traffic.

But first a little background on him: he has since been in an auto accident that should have killed him. I've seen the xrays. There is the longest 1/4" flat head wood screw I've ever seen going completely side to side holding his pelvis together. His legs are full of rods, screws, pieces of sheet metal. His feet look like someone took that coffee can of random screws, nails, wire etc from your dad's garage and dumped it on his feet. Oh yeah, and the Huntington.

He's not capable of out running a tree or making a straight line. He's been stopped by town police and I want to say, we have a fine police force. And a lot of them know him from that, and the fact he's a powerlifter who regularly bench presses over 300# at the same gym they all go lift at.

The Constable decided my friend need arresting. Even though the three police officers thought we could let him walk with help to the 20' to hi apartment. It took a half hour of the four of us and the EMS guys before they backed off. My friend told the constable that I would take care of him (which I do because he'd be the lonliest man in town, otherwise.) and the constable told him he was "a drug addict" and Marble Falls was "just another drug addict covering for him."

Petty bullshit about nothing. The constable told me I can't complain to anyone because they answered to no one.

The constable's wrong. I do vote and as a geezer, I live to share my personal grievances.

They noted that he has citizenship in the U.S. and Lebanon, a country with no extradition treaty with the U.S.

Anyone want to bet he'll be gone, passport or no passport?

28. Trump ally denies acting as foreign agent
Mon Jul 26, 2021, 07:35 PM
Jul 2021

A close ally of former US president Donald Trump who is one of his top fundraisers pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges that he illegally lobbied on behalf of a foreign government.

"Of course I am innocent of all these charges and we will prove that in court," Thomas Barrack said in a brief statement after he was arraigned in a federal court in Brooklyn, New York.

The 74-year-old, who wore a black mask and dark blue suit and said little during the hearing, was released on bail of $250 million. His travel was also restricted and he must wear an electronic bracelet.

The US Justice Department accuses Barrack and two other suspects of failing to register as agents of the United Arab Emirates as they attempted to influence Trump on foreign policy during the presidential campaign and beyond.
