Shontel Brown gaining ground against Nina Turner in Ohio: poll

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by JudyM (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: The Hill

Democratic candidate for Ohio's 11th Congressional District Shontel Brown appears to be gaining ground on front-runner Nina Turner in the race's Democratic primary, according to a new poll.

Forty-one percent of likely primary voters backed Turner in the poll, while 36 percent threw their support behind Brown. The poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points, was conducted by the Mellman Group for the Democratic Majority for Israel PAC. The group has endorsed Brown and has poured money into television advertising ahead of the race.

Jewish Insider was the first outlet to report on the survey.

The poll is the latest to show a tightening race between Turner and Brown. An internal poll from Brown's campaign showed Turner leading 43 percent to 36 percent, marking a 26 point jump for Brown since April. Meanwhile, another recent poll from the Washington Free Beacon showed Turner and Brown tied at 33 percent.

Jamaal Bowman in his primary against "centrist" Eliot Engel?

How's that working out?

I wouldn't want to give the impression that I am familiar with what goes on at Republican sites, that I am a fan of comics who call Democratic women the "c" word, or that I support politicians who compare Democratic presidential nominees to bowls of sh*t.

....the primary for Bowman and against Engel.

Chris Hayes' brother, Luke, is a Justice Democrats operative and he was also Jamaal Bowman's campaign manager. Another reason why so many Justice Democrats appear on Chris Hayes' show - 3-4 times a week.

I still don't understand why Turner is ahead in the polls, unless some republicans are identifying as Democrats. I'm sure they'd love to run against Turner. Meanwhile the Congressional Black Caucus has endorsed Shontel Brown.

of sh*t, perhaps even showing leftist members of Congress endorsing her and the ad says:

This is what elected Democrats think of President Biden. Why, then, should you, the voters, vote for him?

(No, need to alert as "pushing right wing propaganda," this is real).

Turner has said a lot of divisive things that she can never take back. The woman apparently has no filter at all. If elected, she will be trouble for Democrats for years to come. Republicans would love that - takes the spotlight off of their nutters, Marjorie Taylor Green and Lauren Boebert.

Tracking the polls is not important news of national interest, in the view of the forum hosts, and at this point it is analysis and speculation. What is important is who actually wins the race. The final vote as reported by the Associated Press will be important news of national interest.
