Independent Investigators Find Governor Cuomo Sexually Harassed Multiple Women, Violated State and
Source: NY AG office
NEW YORK The independent investigators appointed by New York Attorney General Letitia James led by Joon H. Kim and Anne L. Clark today released their report into the multiple allegations of sexual harassment by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. After nearly five months, the investigators concluded that Governor Cuomo did sexually harass multiple women including former and current state employees by engaging in unwanted groping, kissing, and hugging, and making inappropriate comments. Further, the governor and his senior staff took actions to retaliate against at least one former employee for coming forward with her story. Finally, the Executive Chamber fostered a toxic workplace that enabled harassment to occur and created a hostile work environment. The investigators find that Governor Cuomos actions and those of the Executive Chamber violated multiple state and federal laws, as well as the Executive Chambers own written policies.
The investigation was conducted after, on March 1, 2021, the Executive Chamber made a referral, pursuant to New York Executive Law Section 63(8), for Attorney General James to select independent lawyers to investigate allegations of and circumstances surrounding sexual harassment claims made against the governor. Kim and Clark were chosen to lead the investigation on March 8, 2021.

(26,727 posts)So now the question is whether we're consistent in how that should be handled.
If "someone else let the other guy get away with it" is his best defense... he's on his way out.
Does that mean we just ignore harassment?

(70,489 posts)End of story. Most of the good people on DU wanted for the right people in N.Y. to take their
time and get it right and that has been done. The Governor should do the right thing and resign
today.
Now how about a real investigation into Brett Kavanaugh?

(2,031 posts)All the woman he harassed should be compensated by the state.
He should be charged under the laws he signed:
A NATION-LEADING ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT AGENDA
Governor Cuomo and New York State are leading the nation with new laws to combat sexual harassment in the workplace. On August 12, 2019, Governor Cuomo signed legislation that strengthened protections against discrimination and harassment under the New York State Human Rights Law. These protections supplement the laws that the Governor signed in April 2019 as part of his 2019 Women's Agenda.

(13,919 posts)Hanging on and supporting a harasser purely based on party.. Ugh. Thats how republicans behave, and a good way to end up tainting the situation and ending up with a republican holding what should be a safe democratic statehouse. Hells to the no.
