Texas Supreme Court nixes mask mandate in Bexar, Dallas counties

SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney Gen. Ken Paxton, temporarily banning mask mandates in Bexar and Dallas counties.
This means the mask mandate issued for public schools by Bexar County leaders last week is no longer in effect, at least for now.
The ruling came down Sunday afternoon, days after the Fourth Court of Appeals sided against the governor and Attorney General Ken Paxton’s efforts on Friday.
Governor Greg Abbott spoke out Sunday after the Texas Supreme Court’s ruling and said even without a mask mandate in place, Texans can still wear masks if they choose.
“The ban doesn’t prohibit using masks. Anyone who wants to wear a mask can do so, including in schools,” Gov. Abbott said on social media.

I find myself in tears a lot these days. Not for myself, but for those that will be directly affected by this stupidity. Hospitals are already full.

Texas SC is all Republican, mostly evangelical right wing ideologues. My nephew is one of them. Totally brainwashed evangelical. Yale educated lawyer. I went to his wedding a long time ago. His mother is my husbands sister. We have not actually seen any of his family in person since before this pandemic began. ALL OF THEM ARE VACCINATED, so they are not dumb or uneducated. I guess until one of their young kids gets it, they will continue to argue against mandates.

i could fucking care less, except for the fact that the children will suffer the most. for the anti maskers and anti vaxxers, this is natural fucking selection at it's finest.... hopefully the idiot trait will be at least watered down if not out right eliminated from the gene pool going forward. that said, the ones that will suffer the most will be the kids and minorities... though in the case of minorities... it could be intentional... gotta thin the herd and cull potential democrat voters... you know in case voter supression doesn't work.

the Reeps in power do not send their kids to public school
and that they are all vaccinated.

Either that, or they just don't care if their own kids die!
