Arizona Audit Has 'Too Many Flaws' to Trust Results, Says Former Republican Official
Source: Newsweek
As Cyber Ninjas prepares to present its findings from a widely criticized audit of the 2020 election results in Arizona's Maricopa County, some Republicans are strongly criticizing the process the Florida-based company followed.
Trey Grayson, a Republican who served as Kentucky's Secretary of State from 2004 to 2011, dismissed the trustworthiness of the audit in remarks to the Associated Press published on Sunday. "There are too many flaws in the way this review was conducted to trust it," Grayson said.
Arizona's state Senate Republicans had used biased and inexperienced contractors to carry out the audit, he said, adding that they often used unusual and unreliable methods to conduct the process. Arizona Republicans had also turned to funders who readily promoted conspiracy theories.

"The processes and procedures being used to conduct the Cyber Ninjas review deviate significantly from standard practices for election reviews and audits, as described in this report. Because of these untrustworthy practices and the partisan leanings of those doing the review, any findings by the review are suspect and should not be trusted," that report concluded.

(13,291 posts)the election. If the results go against them, they'll claim the counters had been infiltrated by never-Trumpers and therefore the results are not only suspect, they were wrong, and the real numbers -- which are being hidden from public view -- prove Trump's win was stolen.
It's a no-lose situation. Like T**** told Rosen, "Just say you're investigating election corruption and I'll do the rest."
Meanwhile, in every state Biden won which is controlled by a Republican legislature, the calls for an identical "fraudit" are increasing. If they can't win in a secure democratically held election, there's only one clear solution -- destroy democracy. Completely and totally destroy democracy. End the American experiment in self-governance, once and for all.
The Repugs would be happier with the Articles of Confederation. They were crafted to keep the national government as weak as possible: There was no power to enforce laws. No judicial branch or national courts. Amendments needed to have a unanimous vote. The Articles of Confederation distributed the power between many unions ("states rights" in modern parlance).
Since they lost that battle, they narrowed control of the country as much as possible. Under the initial Constitution only white men had the right to participate -- i.e., the right to vote. In several states that was narrowed by requiring that the electors for president be selected by the legislature. That insured power was retained in the hands of PLU (People Like Us). That's what their goal is. If they can't get rid of the judicial branch, at least they can own it, which is why they shoved through judges when Bush and T**** were in office and denied Obama his choices -- even going so far as denying him his legal right to name a SCOTUS justice. They may not get rid of Congress, but at least they can own it with huge donations and perks unimaginable to the Founding Fathers.
As far as the rest of the Constitution goes, as far as the GQP is concerned it has the same value as toilet paper. (Didn't Dubya say something to that effect?) The only words that matter are "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
The right to vote is the key, and there's an all-out assault on the franchise. And the GQP has help. At one event the Repug participants were advised to write Joe Manchin thank-you letters "for your strong stand for democracy in the face of radical socialism." We won't get into a discussion of the filibuster here; leave it to say the Senate rule was written to appease Southern senators who were faced with a growing civil rights movement. Essentially, it let them run the Senate to their liking, whether they held the majority or not. Sound familiar?
That's where we are. The ninjas will give T**** and his acolytes another weapon to use against democracy, while the filibuster is keeping the Democrats from having the power of the vote to defend it.
