Ten GOP governors gather at U.S.-Mexico border and call for building of Trump's wall

Source: AP

DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds and Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts joined eight other Republican governors Wednesday at the U.S.-Mexico border to criticize Democratic President Biden’s handling of immigration issues.

The governors who gathered in Texas called on Biden to take a number of actions, including building a border wall supported by former Republican President Trump, requiring those seeking asylum to remain in Mexico instead of being allowed into the United States and prohibiting the entry of anyone who potentially poses a health risk.

Iowa Democratic Party Chair Ross Wilburn said in a statement that Reynolds’ trip to the border was nothing more “than a political stunt and a distraction from her failed leadership.”

Reynolds bristled when asked whether the trip was more about politics than confronting immigration issues.

They should be in Miami building a wall against the rising Atlantic Ocean caused by climate change.

Human migration will get worse in the future and walls won’t help.

Trump wanted to feel like Nikita Khrushchev did when the Berlin Wall went up. Is there a totalitarian strongman that Trump doesn't try to emulate?

These Trump sucking governors and their slobbering anti-vax minions are the ones posing the biggest heath risks in the country, not immigrants.

Hypocrisy beyond the absurd.

Just imagine how pissed off the eight unnamed Governors are. They went all that way, ignoring covid that’s ravaging their home states and they never even got their names mentioned.

I see mine there - but there is not a chance in hell I’ll write his name, or the name of the state he’s ignoring. Fuck them all.

"More Mexico."

The wall along the Texas border serves a dual purpose: a) to keep immigrants out and b) to keep women seeking abortions in.

Only three governor's names are mentioned. Give us all of them so they can be held to account.

I dare them to meet at the Rio Grande and explain how their proposed wall will be able to allow ranchers and farmers to continue to have access to the river waters.

Or explain that they're instead proposing to give Mexico exclusive access to the river and are planning to devastative the economies of the American Southwest.

So, back in the day, I was part of a group that had some property in the NC mountains and we would throw parties on occasion, Well, one time, one of the local crew invited a few people they met at a bar. (Mistake one... I don't care how 'cool' someone seems, you don't just invite people to private events as your responsibility without some vetting. Just sayin'.) They came to one of our events at the beginning of the summer. Of course, they showed their ass and had to be removed. (The person who invited them was persona non grata for a while as well.) Well, they went to the police and told them we were running an illegal moonshine still/bar on the property, as well as dealing all kinds of drugs. (One of the reasons they were tossed out was that we had families up there and besides some drinking and (covert)smoking, we were not into people who went wild while partying, to say the least.) They had already overheard that we were having our usual party in the fall. So, the cop on duty in the closest town, two county sheriffs, and two state patrol officers all descended on that road on that day. They set up checkpoints from both directions. They caught one person for simple possession and nine DUIs. (The DUIs were all locals... none of them were coming to our place. I understand that a few of the locals went to the next town council meeting and aired their grievances. LOL!!) This went on all day and into the night. As we became aware this was happening, I had a great idea. We did not act on it, but we should have. Face facts, the entire law enforcement in that area was sitting right by our place. Both nearby towns were pretty much open to pillaging. I said we should get a crew to go ransack the local town while these idiots were out here going on and on about nothing. (Of course, I was joking. A little)

This is what should happen to those idiot governors who are down in Texas instead of doing their freaking jobs in their own states. There should be brazen moves to adjust each sitting governors agenda. There should be cancellations and rescheduling. Teach those worthless idiots never to grandstand when their own states are far from a utopia.
