Near the bottom or at the bottom in almost every measure. They don't seem to mind being at the bottom. When I first moved here I wondered why they always said, "Thank God for Mississippi." I asked what that meant and they said if it wasn't for Mississippi, Arkansas would be in last place.

I moved here from California 15 yrs ago. I loved CA and still do when I visit my kids every year. The people here are basically good folks as long as you don't get into talking politics with them. I have to always keep in mind that this is their state and I moved here to their state. I know I'm a liberal because when I vote here every single candidate or issue I've voted on has lost.
And yes, I like the fishing here too.
