McConnell to experts, “Fuck the risks, we take control of the courts now or never.”

And so he did, from 2016 to today.

Here again, we’re lacking the balls to be in the fight. Public opinion? Does McConnell give a rip about public opinion? Their guns are out and shooting. Ours aren’t even loaded.

We’re at the point where democracy is on the line and Democrats are worried about public opinion.

We will have nobody to blame but our illustrious leaders if we lose all that we have fought for over our lifetimes. God save the Queen.

A cabal of fascist dark money lackeys who do the bidding of their Federalist Society dark money funded corporate owners. The supreme court would be a joke, but there is nothing funny about its determination to subvert democracy, curtail the citizen’s right to seek redress in the courts, and disenfranchise groups that exist outside of their fundamentalist Catholic oppressive model. I spit on the radical right wing court.

Apparently, nothing is going to happen except fascist takeover. No voting rights, no infrastructure, no healthcare, nothing Joe ran on is going to go through. All because of the two greatest Dems of all time™️.

Yeah, even with Piss Wig gone, I’m at an all time low point. Bitterly disappointed.

some of the amendments (esp the second), the how numbers of senators are assigned, the number of court justices and the lifetime terms - so much was conceived at a very different time.

It's no wonder we are living through a complete clusterfuck, that is only going to get worse.

The "originalist" notion of omniscient founding fathers has been turned into a straitjacket for the democratic impulse to create a more just and equitable society. The ongoing failure to modify the obsolescent structure of our governing institutions increases the likelihood of violent, anarchic collapse of those institutions.

Their ruling allowing the obviously unconstitutional Texas abortion law to go into effect is enough to convince anyone that the Court is in the hands of religious extremists who do not care that Roe v. Wade is the law of the land—except for Texas women—until they formally overruled it. How can it be Constitutional to deny only Texas women the right to an abortion when women in 49 other states can exercise that right! A law that creates harm should not be allowed to go into effect while it is being litigated, but these people put their own extremist religious beliefs above the existing law. I have no respect whatsoever for this kangaroo Court. We can only expect to see more harm to our country from their rulings.

Once that box is opened you can’t close it. We add 4 to make it a 7-6 majority and the next time they are in power they’ll add an unlimited number once that barrier is broken.

It only works if you think Republicans will never have the presidency and senate again.

SO just have a senator decide all by himself to just tell a president that he can't nominate someone to the bench during a election.........so what part to the above statement does this mean to this rule of law....

MINORITY RULE is destroying our democracy because it's more suited for fascism. So is illegitimately packing the S.C. over the past 10 years. We need to fix it.
