Robert Durst charged with 1982 murder of wife Kathie Durst

NEW YORK (AP) Millionaire real estate scion Robert Durst has been charged in suburban New York City with the death of his former wife, Kathie Durst, who vanished in 1982, authorities confirmed Friday.
A state police investigator filed a criminal complaint on Tuesday at a town court in Lewisboro, New York, accusing Durst of second-degree murder.
The action wasnt announced at the time by any law enforcement officials or Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah, who recently convened a grand jury to consider charges.
The Westchester County District Attorneys Office can confirm that a complaint charging Robert Durst with the murder of Kathleen Durst was filed in Lewisboro Town Court on October 19, 2021. We have no further comment at this time, her office said in a statement Friday.

(57,009 posts)... prosecuted this effectively was in the 1980's. It means nothing to prosecute the murdering PoS at this point. It's questionable of he is even capable of contributing to his defense, a Constitutional right.
There is no justice for Kathy Durst. There is no justice for friends or family. There is only justice for society, and justice which will not be available for Durst: he's borderline senile with only at most a few years. The question of justice for society is: was it met with him being finally jailed after close to 40 years mostly on the streets, will it be better met by spending hundreds of thousands dollars spiking the ball on a convict who both won't even be able to appreciate his jeopardy and will be off the planet soon enough.
