New York City tells health providers to give booster shots to all adults who want them.
Source: New York Times
Anyone who is 18 or older and seeking a booster shot in New York City should not be turned away, said Dr. Dave A. Chokshi, the citys health commissioner, provided it has been at least six months since their second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or at least two months since they received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson shot.
Clinicians should allow adult patients to determine their own risk of exposure based on their individual circumstances, said Dr. Chokshi.
Federal regulators currently allow booster shots for people who are 65 and older, as well as adults who live in long-term care settings, have underlying medical conditions, or work or live in high-risk settings. Last week, Pfizer and BioNTech requested that the Food and Drug Administration expand eligibility of their booster to all adults.

since that will be 6 months but I must be on the CDC list of at-risk people under 65. I thought I heard on TV yesterday that ALL adults will be able to get boosters from now on, regardless of health status. I haven't read anything about it though.

I just read that all CA adults can get it now....

(575 posts)Technically I'm not at the age yet...but they are my regular pharmacy and are aware of my medications so maybe they approved it on that justification.
Half hour later I got my shot. Now I'm triple-vaxxed.

(11,092 posts)I'm not quite 65. Before Arkansas opened the booster to all persons 18 and older, I got the booster at Walgreens, no questions asked and without any known underlying conditions.
I had a story prepared about my elderly parents and people walking in my office whose vaccination status is unknown and ignoring the sign about wearing masks.

(25,146 posts)I got mine today because today is my 65th Bday.
My friends have been getting them since September, no questions asked. I think we might have a vaccine surplus here. I made my appointment today and it was for 15 minutes later.
