Gosar To Be Censured And Stripped Of Committee Assignments

Source: Crooks and Liars

On Tuesday, the House Rules Committee advanced the resolution to censure Gosar and remove him from his seat on the House Oversight Committee, where AOC also serves, and from his seat on the Natural Resources Committee.

Sadly, but not surprisingly, the vote was along party lines, 9-4, which means that not one Republican on the Rules Committee voted to censure Gosar. Also not surprising, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy opposed the resolution, claiming that Gosar had apologized – which he has not.

Will still send him back there. . . and the problem is bigger than Gosar -

It's those people who voted for him. 'Those' people.

a member of Congress cannot be tolerated.

As for the argument that this will come back against later if the republicans gain control, it would regardless.

The republican party is a cult who have aligned themselves with hate groups trying to destroy our democracy. That is not hyperbole.

what happened on January 6th was an attempt to do that, and the danger still exists because the majority of the republican party want that.

I have real doubts that we will survive as a democracy

No, that's why we have the comedians. What Kathy Griffin did should have been seen as the joke it was because that's her job. Someone in Congress? Not so much...

But they would do that regardless.

Gosar posted a video depicting AOC being murdered. This requires a strong response and any response needs to be based on what is appropriate versus fear of what the GOP may or may not do. Inaction is why we ended up with a demoralized base.

We can't do nothing for fear of their response, for it's not likely to be based on reason or duty.

Once you get out of the 3 large cities most of Arizona is lots of empty land.

I maintain a special interest in AZ because my daughter lives in Phoenix. In approximately 2 years she & her family will be moving up into Gosar's district.
(when I told her that, she said "I know and I can't wait to vote against him!"

R's had no problem holding other Rs accountable for their misdeeds. Today if you have an R behind your name
you have done nothing wrong ever and " It's a Democratic witch hunt ", even in the Kyle Rittenmouse murder
trial. I hope they lose so badly in the midterms so that Biden has a congress that will work with him to get
programs passed that are so beneficial to the public that we'll stay in charge of this country for a long time.
The R party does not know right from wrong anymore.
