Governor condemns tweet offering a 'bounty' on teachers

Source: AP

Republican Gov. Chris Sununu on Thursday denounced a conservative group’s offer to pay $500 to the first person who “catches” a public school teacher violating New Hampshire’s new limits on the discussion of systemic racism and other topics.

Sununu ... backed language inserted into the state budget ’that would prohibit teaching children that they are inferior, racist, sexist or oppressive by virtue of their race, gender or other characteristics.

After the state Department of Education set up a website last week to collect complaints against teachers, The New Hampshire chapter of 'Moms for Liberty' tweeted “We’ve got $500 for the person that first successfully catches a public school teacher breaking this law.”

“The Governor condemns the tweet referencing ‘bounties’ and any sort of financial incentive is wholly inappropriate and has no place,” Sununu’s spokesperson, Ben Vihstadt, said in an email.

lives to support the totalitarian revolution the GOP is trying so hard to get us into.

These people do not know what they are getting into, the day will come when they too will fall, someone will report them for whatever, be true or not, and in a totalitarian regime there are very few questions asked, they go to the torture chamber to find out if what the denouncer said is true, and like in "1984", the torture ends up reaching such levels where the tortured admits to it in order to stop the pain.

There was a video by a guy from Brazil making fun of some Venezuelan military people who were part of the regime, they too tortured, denounced people, did horrible things, but now the regime has found some reasons to go after them so they are crying and asking for help. The Brazilian guy just told them to go to hell, and some other explicit language which I will not write here, but in summary, he told them "well deserved, I hope you all go to hell". See? now it is their turn, those vacations do not last a life time, the regime will eventually get you the moment you sneeze at the wrong time.

Texas GOP Declares: “No More Teaching of ‘Critical Thinking Skills’ in Texas Public Schools“
-----
The company is moving across the Texas prairie, taking down traditional public schools like locusts consuming wheat fields. Keeping with the Republican platform, they promise to make obedience training and anti-intellectualism the cornerstone and foundation of education in Texas, to the detriment of students and society.

Technically, from reading the link you provided, the TX GOP was against relabeling other programs as "Critical Thinking Skills" in order to make them seem more palatable and less controversial.

That's a bit different than being against students having critical thinking skills.

From the article, the law will prohibit teaching children that they are inferior, racist, sexist or oppressive by virtue of their race, gender or other characteristics. I'm no lawyer, but that doesn't seem to prohibit discussing the fact that people are often discriminated against because of the color of their skin, who they love, etc. etc. I'd think the ACLU will be all over this in the very near future.

interpretation of the law may be counted on as chilling. But it wasn't taught at K-12 anyway as far as I know.

Another article on it: https://abcnews.go.com/US/teachers-hampshire-face-legal-threats-teaching-called-divisive/story?id=81213142

The New Hampshire law doesn't sound as bad as the Texas law.
