Indiana man gets probation for entering Capitol on Jan. 6

Source: AP

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A man from Vincennes has been sentenced to three years’ probation for his part in the Jan. 6 riot during which the crowd stormed the U.S. Capitol.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols spared Jonathan Ace Sanders prison time after Sanders pleaded guilty this month to one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. Three other charges were dropped as a result.

The Indianapolis Star reports that video footage showed Sanders in the Capitol that day. But the FBI investigation in Sanders’ activities began after it received a tip that Sanders was in a Vincennes bakery bragging about being within 70 feet of protester Ashli Babbitt when Capitol police fatally shot her.

The 61-year-old Sanders told investigators he drove to Washington, D.C. on Jan. 5 with two friends to attend the “Stop the Steal” rally to support President Donald Trump, who lost re-election the previous November. He said he followed a crowd into the Capitol and “also heard that a lady was shot.”

You can bet he'll think twice before he'll engage in any future insurrections at the urging of his sacred orange balloon full of liquid pig shit.

If they reoffend while on probation, they can be sentenced to prison, right? Plus the sentence, if convicted for the second crime. These brownshirts almost can’t help but reoffend.

government, they went to insurrectionist rally to foment on killing people, and even built a hanging box, they attacked police officers, and some of them were injured and died in the process, then they invaded the chambers yelling for Pence and Pelosi, or anyone that could have been fair game if caught, they entered through smashed windows, beat the shit out of officers, got a hold of news people cameras and put them in a big pile and started destroying them, and basically rounding up the press......

I was always told that if you are a fucking accomplice to a crime you do and get the same punishment, because you knowing and willfully "participated".....did this fucker also hear and see police officers getting the living shit beat out of them.....what did he do to stop it.....fucking nothing.....again what and I missing here....terrorists are still fucking terrorists trying to take down a government process....this is really turning into a circus.....why is this law on the books if you are not going to use it......

18 U.S. Code § 2383 - Rebellion or insurrection

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Maybe we need to give USC Section 5104 some more teeth? It seems geared towards addressing people interrupting proceedings, but when that happens during an election it amounts to sedition and treason.
