Tucker Carlson Reveals His Son Was in Capitol Building During Jan. 6 Riot
Source: Mediaite
Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who has downplayed the storming of the U.S. Capitol, revealed in a new interview that his son, a House staffer, was in Congress on the day of the attack.
In an interview with Steve Krakauer on The Fourth Watch Podcast, the Fox News host mocked criticism for the unsubstantiated claims he advanced in Patriot Purge, his Fox Nation series on January 6th. At one point, Krakauer asked Carlson to explain why he wanted to give a different look at the Capitol riot.
I hated what happened on January 6, Carlson replied. He then added that one of my kids was actually in the building when it happened. I was on the phone in real time.
Carlson was likely referring to his son, Buckley Carlson, who works for Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN). . .

BUCKLEY?? Geez, Tucker is bad enough of a name for showing you are rich. But Buckley? The only "Buckley" I ever heard of was in Father of the Bride (great film). Geez.

(21,639 posts)Much like Tucker.
Could Tucker's opinions on 1/6/21 be skewed by the fact that his son was an Insurrectionist? Sure seems likely.

(21,639 posts)If he was doing his intern job, serving as an intern in Congress, I retract my point....although, I still think that Tucker's opinions would still be influenced. If young Buckley was, in fact, at the rally, and participated in the actual chaos....then, no, my original comment stands.

I hope the kid is different than his dad, I hope some reporter is able to present him to the World and see what kind of person he is.

I disagree with his political views, but he did represent an intellectual level that modern conservatives largely reject.

(16,644 posts)Buckley, for all he was wrong, purged conservatives of the whole John Birch/racist/conspiracy wing of the GOP. Over time, they found their way back in, mostly starting with Reagan but even as far back as Goldwater.

(508 posts)Tucker Carlson re: January 6:
"Im from Washington. I hate disorder. I hate breaking windows above all else. I just dont like when people break windows or litter. Im about order and my house is clean, I really believe in that. So if people covering January 6th had been willing to just roughly tell the truth
but not use it as a partisan instrument to suspend civil liberties, I kinda wouldve just let it lie. Okay, people got all wound up, I get it. Some of them misbehaved, Im not gonna defend that, but it has been used like so many events throughout history as a pretext for something else. So they lie about what actually happened, they repeat the lie with maximum aggression, and over time, that lie solidifies into the common understanding of what happened."
Yeah, Tucker, $30 million worth of breaking windows, litter, and damage. The difference between these guys and tourists, is tourists would have been sent the bill for the damages.
Im glad to hear Tucker believes in something. A clean house. (I wonder who cleans his though.) But is he really going to make this about housecleaning? Seriously?
If Dems did this, would it be people getting all wound up, deserving a slap on the hand? Theyd be asking Kyle Rittenhouse to step in.
But what really gets me is the part about the lie. Its uncanny how they accuse Dems of exactly what they are doing.
I think the advice from Putin was: Accuse the other side of what you are doing, so when they point out what you are doing no one will know the difference.
Whats in all this for Tucker? Does he understand that under Dictator Trump, puppet of Putin, that even he, Tucker, will no longer have the freedom to speak his mind?

(59,547 posts)Tucker and Hunter were friendly, based on their email exchange. This needs more publicity, because it shines a light on what a cowardly liar Tucker Carlson is, and how his Fox News act is just money-making theatre. Anybody who believes a word Tucker says is being conned.
