Public view on Biden's handling of Covid and the economy takes another hit, CNBC survey shows
Source: CNBC
Amid growing worries over Covid and the economy, President Joe Biden’s approval ratings in both areas took yet another hit while Americans’ preferences for congressional control swung sharply towards Republicans. Results in the CNBC All-America Economic survey imply potentially large Democratic losses in the November election. Biden’s overall approval rating stabilized at a low level of 41%, about the same level as former President Donald Trump’s, compared to 50% who disapprove. His economic approval sank more deeply underwater, with 37% approving compared to 56% who disapprove, down from 40% approval to 54% in the second quarter survey. Lets see how Joe is doing after Labor Day 2024.

We all should know by now, A Republican Congress wouldn’t want to do jack shit to help anyone needing help in this country…except for the wealthy, who don’t need the comfort of another tax cut.

8. According to that CNBC poll Republicans are +10 on the generic Congressional ballot
41% to 31%. It's shaping up that independent voters are poised to punish the current party in charge in the midterms.

15. Sadly Americans don't spend much time thinking through the details
They know that X is in charge and they somehow still have a mortgage to pay and gas prices are higher and so they say Y will fix it!
Then when Y is in charge and everything in their lives is still hard they vote for X. |

36. GQP: We're gonna make you hurt so bad you'll want to die.
Since we're the pro-COVID party, you probably will die. But we'll make you believe you're patriotic Americans who are dying for their rights.
Oh, by the way, remember all those things you take for granted, like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, VA benefits, clean air and water, public education? They'll be gone, guaranteed. So will an impartial judiciary, and free and fair elections. All gone. Your lives will get more and more miserable, and you will watch more of your family and friends die from COVID. You will give us all of your money, and you will work until you die. The thing is, you are going to be the ones who choose this future for yourselves, your children and your grandchildren. You'll blame the Democrats for your misery, because we'll tell you so. You will beg for the relief that only one-party rule provides, and we -- led by the Greatest President in the history of the world, a man whose landslide victory was stolen from him -- will be happy to give it to you. So vote for us in 2022. Remember our slogan: "Vote Republican, Because Our Cruelty is Good for You" You are such pathetic people. We love you. |

28. They will not put Trump & crew back in power.
..Donald Trump is a killer who kills people.
In the end, he will not get back in power...Further, Trump will have opposition from someone. The so called "Very Rich Republicans will NOT BACK TRUMP, simply because he will lose & Trump is a killer who kills Americans. And our advertising will say just that. And Trump is a killer and long time Rich Republicans who support their party, will not support him because he will lose. Also, Trump is a totally mean person who lies all the time. Most people in the U.S.A. know that, and his failure as President, and will NOT vote for him ever. Trump may think he can win, and some supporters think the same, but professional politicians who know political history know the truth. Trump cannot win anything even dog catcher. ...Further, repeat, OUR ADVERTISING WILL SAY THAT TRUMP IS INCOMPETENT AND A KILLER. ..Why will the advertising work........................................................ ................................................................................................... SIMPLE: BECAUSE IT IS THE TOTAL TRUTH!!....!! Yes 25 to 30% may support Donald Trump....but here is another truth.............................. ............................................................................................................................... .......YOU DON'T WIN ELECTIONS WITH 25 to 30% of the vote.....Do you? |

34. I wish I was as optimistic about that as you
But red state and most American voters tend to let me down at the ballot box.
As HL Mencken said: "No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby. The mistake that is made always runs the other way. Because the plain people are able to speak and understand, and even, in many cases, to read and write, it is assumed that they have ideas in their heads, and an appetite for more. This assumption is a folly." |

40. Not surprising: bad poll results are due to inflation and omicron Covid fatigue
If by next summer, Covid is receding (the new about to be approved drugs from Merck and Pfizer should help), and inflation due to supply chain problems and high oil prices is in the past, the polls should turn around in Biden's and the Democrats' favor.

By and large, Americans are stupid and uninformed. That’s hard to say, must less realize, that is the fact. We see it over and over again, the uninformed and uneducated make bad choices. Just what more do they want President Biden to do? Things are so much better now than they were but he does not get credit for anything. It is disheartening to see what is going on and people don’t even realize how things have improved. I am so worried about 2022.

43. If you follow American politics this really shouldn't come as a shock
The party in White House has been on the losing end of almost every midterm election for the last 40 years. I think 2002 is the one exception and that was because of Bush's high approval rating that he still had after 9/11 and before he destroyed it with the Iraq War in 2003.
